A reprinting of the account on GoStanford.com, but the main thing, it's a national press publication
Very nice. I learned something. I was thinking that Jump got the record in 5 years, which was something of an apples-to-oranges comparison, but then I read this:
Quote:Williams played 4,336 career minutes, while fifth-year guard Jump is now at 3,072.
That makes Jump even more astonishing. She has played only about 2/3 the time of the last record-setter.
Presser:

One thing Tara mentioned in the presser is that Jump "came back six weeks early from surgery." Did we know that Jump had surgery in the off season, and what it was?
Lots of praise for Jump--going way beyond her shooting. "She is the glue out there."
On Talana, "They wanted to sag off of Talana and double down on Cam and Kiki, and she hit a three, and another three--she wouldn't have that. That is a real key for us going forward, that she looks to be aggressive offensively." So Tara agrees with everyone on this board, but has confidence that Lepolo is gaining confidence.
Tara confirmed that Harriel and Ogden should be back for the Cal game.

Somewhere, someone mentioned a shoulder injury - may be speculation.
Hannah now only 61 behind Wiese as all time Pac 12 leader
another article, much of same info
Hannah Jump credits teammates for helping her become Stanford’s 3-point record holder (msn.com)

19 more games plus Pac 12 plus NCAAs. She needs to average about 3 a game to break the Pac 12 record. Sadly, no one will remember the Pac 12 records after this year. But it would be nice to get it during the league's final year.

I happened to find out. Here's what I posted earlier.

I happened to meet Hannah Jump's boyfriend's parents at the reception. Very nice friendly folks. They think the world of Hannah. I heard from them that Hannah had surgery on her right shoulder just after last season. It went very well and she's now pain free -- apparently unlike last season.

Good to hear.
I've thought that Lepolo, while good at bringing the ball up the court, and maybe good enough on defense, had become a major liability once into our half court offense. Because her shooting was so bad that it had become common knowledge for defenses to sag off of her. Making it much harder on both our bigs and our perimeter shooting threats (eg. Jump)
I've been eager to see her or someone else become both a PG and a shooting threat.
At times I thought Harriel or Clardy might be up for it.
But noone has stepped up consistently.
I really think this is a key limit or factor on how far this team can go this season.
That is, can our PG position also demand to be guarded?

Thank you for all your write-ups, Judy! I did not know that umbrellas used to be allowed--I left mine at home and just donned a rain coat. Now I'm glad I did! Did they not even have an allowance for checking the umbrellas outside?

Weird on umbrellas.
No pizza for WVB either. No more cheeseburgers. No more pretzels stuffed with feta cheese

But they added beer. Who wants to drink beer with a grab and go salad?
