I like to look at the average of the class. I would think that would be closer to the true value of a class. With that said Stanford looks pretty good in the ratings.
       Average/total points
Scout      24/59
Rivals      17/63
247Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 19/63
ESPNÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 39Â Â Â ESPN just believes everything starts and ends with the SEC
Even with the ESPN rating we average out with a 25 rating. With out them the class rates a 20. I like that and I like the look of this class. So welcome to the Cardinal family new recruits and on to spring ball, summer camp and 2013 football.
GO STANFORD

Does anybody know if admissions is ever an issue at the next tier of FBS schools (Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Northwestern)? Do they just work under a minimum SAT/GPA?

This has got to be the least likely thing to ever happen to a Stanford commit on NSD.

Didn't Chase Beeler's parents force him to go to Oklahoma for a year? He transferred to Stanford after that though.

Glyn Milburn had a similar case with his father/step-father and then later transferred to Stanford.

Based on my knowledge of the situation I'd say that forced is too strong a word. I understand that he received some strong opinions from people important in his life that OU was the better choice. I also recall that when he transferred to Stanford, he was subjected to some pretty tasteless criticisms via anonymous online comments.
I don't know of any other D1 football player who has achieved All-American status for both his football and his academic performance.

Ah okay. I only remember bits and pieces of the second-hand story I heard several years ago. Anyone transferring away from OU would definitely have been shellacked online by OU fans...they're a passionate crowd.

I met Chase Beeler's grandfather at the TCU game. He was nicer than most Okies, who are all pretty nice people. Believe he had some stake in the oil bidness. We talked about Milburn and transferring I think it was Beeler's first year after sitting out due to the transfer. I hadn't really been into Stanford football until that time and it was fun to watch Beeler turn into a pretty special player.Â
