I think the prospect of Farmer turning into an Eddie George type RB may have been a major factor. He showed some scary potential late in the season.

Didn't Amir say, when he first verbally committed to Stanford, that he felt God had told him to go here? And then he changed his mind and told him to go to USC.Â

But he 'Looked Marvelous' on those occasions.
Anyhow, calling a big "Never Mind" on myself (in SNL retro mode) -Â via this morning's LA Times: Amir's dad is now working for Purdue in a strength / performance capacity. They now live in W. Lafayette, IN and the LAT quoted him as saying the transfer was a family decision. So, that seems like a pretty easy explanation; wasn't fear of Farmer or voices from beyond.
But WIM, I shall mark you sir, and we will revisit this Farmer discussion in 12 months.
