Re: Josh Garnett announcing - socalstanfan1 - 01-22-2012

Larkingforever, like you, I have long thought that Garnett was leaning, just slightly, toward Michigan.  There is a way the comment about Magnussen could be seen as a positive for Stanford, though.  It could be that Magnussen has simply told Garnett something to the effect of "Josh, you're my boy, no matter what you choose.  Michigan, Stanford, do what's good for you."  What could be tougher for Garnett than wanting to choose Stanford, but having your new best friend say, "Dude, what's up? We talked about doing this together!"  That would seriously suck.

Q: I know the Michigan fans are focusing on Hoke's in-home today.  Will Shaw and staff get one last in-home later?  He's not announcing until Thursday.

I'm not sure how to read Garnett, though I'm mildly pessimistic regarding our chances.

Good point socalstanfordfan1. One thing that unfortunately hints against that possibility, however, is that EM said he is going to do his best to bring Garnett to UM and that he knows if he doesn't there will be a lot of angry UM fans and that fact is "a lot of pressure"... I fully admit, though, that I'm not experienced in reading the tea leaves...

Didn't Garnett say he wanted to go somewhere with nice weather?

Re: Josh Garnett announcing - stanfan - 01-22-2012

I was fortunate to spend 4 years at Stanford as an undergrad and 3 years at Michigan as a grad student.  Stanford is head and shoulders above Michigan.  I hope Garnett makes the right choice.  Going to school to be witha buddy is not the right choice.

Might I suggest that you get a twitter account and pass these words of wisdom along to young Mr. Garnett?

Re: Josh Garnett announcing - Hank 91 - 01-22-2012

I read someplace that Garnett had in-homes scheduled with all three schools this weekend, and Shaw was supposed to be up first. Hopefully it went well. My guess is that he's pretty good in the living room.

Why is that not a good sign? Aren't Shaw and Brian Kelly doing in-home visits too?
