One interesting twist today: Fairfield University made the finals of the MAAC Conference tournament.  While it is unlikely that they'll beat Marist, if they do, they will be the host of the Bridgeport subregional.  Which, unless the committee forces them into a #16 seed, means that UConn can't be there.  Fairfield's RPI is 97; there are likely to be at least 5-6 teams with lower RPIs in the tourney.  I think they would be the lowest seed ever to host an opening sub-regional.

The selection show will have all sorts of unintended drama this year.  Lots of opportunity for the committee to feed all sorts of conspiracy theorists.

From what I remember from the announcement, part of the new Pac-12 TV deal will put 4 Pac-12 women's hoops games on ESPN. (Hopefully ESPN gets to pick the good ones rather than having to be "fair" and let everyone have a turn.) Maybe this will lead ESPN to give a little more positive attention to the conference.
