Is "Cretan" not a commonly used term for idiot? I can't remember where I picked that up. Urban dictionary agrees, but I couldn't see other reputable sources: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cretan

The word you mean is "cretin" -- as in "UrbanDictionary is often useful, but not very reliable, because many entries are written by cretins."

HINT: Urban Dictionary, like Wikipedia, is not a reputable source:

The real problem comes when your spell check doesn't warn you that the word you're using isn't real and you've never used the word except in spoken language, so you assume a lack of angry red underlining means you succeeded in bluffing your way through the proper spelling. I blame this failure on Google Chrome's lack of "natural language check " to protect me form making a fool of myself over the interwebs.

Cretan is a real word. That's why your spell checker did not flag it. A Cretan is a resident of Crete, and I dare say that he would be offended if you called him a cretin. Your computer doesn't know when to use which word, which is why you must learn.

Grammar, it's the difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t.

I'm a big crossword fan, and I sometimes learn new words from doing them. However, sometimes I just sound stupid. There was a period of my life (oh, about 2 years ago) when I thought that "atoz" was an adjective that meant "complete" and "running the full spectrum." I'm just glad that I never tried to use it in conversation ("His comprehensive encyclopedia collection is really atoz."). Thanks, Will Shortz.

Thankfully Colts ownership is appropriately managing the fans' expectations.  Irsay tweeted this after the game:

"Historic beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!! The legend has begun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Yeah, no pressure Andrew.Â
