I knew Stanford could beat SC when I saw the center injury against Syracuse. I then thought Stanford would win when they looked so much better against Duke. I thought Stanford would need to score 30+ points, and was very concerned about the missed FGs. The good news is the D covered all flaws.
SC's schemes, QB and lack of depth on D were just a good match for Stanford.
However, I still do not really see Stanford as a team that will just show up and win. Oregon just is a match-up nightmare for Stanford. UCLA, UofA, Notre Dame seem like they could be close games. UW, Cal and OSU all seem capable of pulling an upset. So while I enjoyed the SC thing, I am not planning any BCS bowl game trips just yet.
Ironically, if you read the SoCal papers those writers are still planning for SC to go the National Championship with Barkley as the Voldemort winner. Seriously!
I am not sure if Stanford will get to a BCS bowl, but I am reasonably confident Stanford's chances are better than SCs.
The newest excuse from SoCal is that the SC players overlooked Stanford. ::) The players apparently believed that without Luck the win would be easy, so they were not really prepared for Saturday's environment.
I guess that is what they need to say in a pathetic attempt to keep their "unfinished business" hopes alive.

I'm worried about Oregon, but the rest of the slate looks winnable. One game at a time...and each game gives our young secondary and OL players more experience.Â
