Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

At this point, all we need is the offense to wake up. But yes, this is looking like the UW game.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Leftcoast - 10-13-2012

Thank God we packed our defense!  Our offense must have been left at baggage claim.  Maybe we'll get a timely delivery by Fed Ex in time for the second half.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - treefan - 10-13-2012

we are out rushing them! Stay with running game.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Leftcoast - 10-13-2012

Clear push from behind on the punt and the announcer calls it ticky-tack?  I think these guys are drinking leprechaun Kool-Aid.

And now the D for 7!  Way to go Defense!

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - JohnR34231 - 10-13-2012

I like our running game but we are going to have to throw the ball at least somewhat effectively to beat them.

Nunes isn't having much of a game, but he isn't getting much help.

Defense gets us a TD. Love it, but the offense is still going to have to do something for us to win.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Gauss - 10-13-2012

We're dominating both lines, but we have to be careful with turnovers.
If Nunes picks it up and complements the running game, we have real chances here!

LOL we need our defense to outscore their offense.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - JeffInCorvallis - 10-13-2012

Defense has come to play.  So frustrating because all the offense has to do is out together a few sustained drives and convert some field goals.  The game is right there for us to take but we're leaving ND in it.

Announcers Priorities:
1. Protect the brand.
2. Call a good game.

Well, at least on NBC

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - stanforddad - 10-13-2012

I hope we come out after the half and run run run the ball. When you have wet conditions on the field it is easier to run. You know the count , where you are blocking and  and the play design. It keeps the defense on their heals and makes pass blocking easier in the long run. As a lineman you have better control  running and are fresher. Pass protection is hard work energy draining.

We are controlling the line in this game, so keep pounding the line on both offense and defense. It pays dividends at the end of the game.

Nunes passing picked up when we went to an up tempo offense. He doesn't have to think as much. He doesn't aim the ball as much, he throws the ball. This bodes well for later in the game.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Griffins78 - 10-13-2012

We have to connect on some passes... Nunes needs to put the ball where it can be caught and our receivers/RBs need to hold onto the ball.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

We still havent score an offensive TD on the road.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

Oh dear I hope their QB didnt step out of bounds.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Griffins78 - 10-13-2012

Yes! DEFENSE is playing a GREAT game! C'mon OFFENSE, lets score!

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

I hate this apparent policy by NBC to not show replays on plays that could have gone against ND.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Leftcoast - 10-13-2012

Great TO forced by the D off a hard hit when we really needed it.  Will the O step up here?

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - treefan - 10-13-2012

awful O series after we got fumble. Run first, then throw.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - stanforddad - 10-13-2012

Nunes is aiming the ball again. When you do you short arm the pass and get nothing on the ball , thus it nose dives to the ground. THROW the ball. Now we lost field position and ND driving.
