There are 95.

Division 1 and league designations do not mean the same thing in wrestling as they do in FB and BB. PAC 12 wrestling consists of 6 schools: Stanford, Oregon State, Arizona State, Boise State, CSU Bakersfield and C
al Poly. Intermat lists the top 56 teams at:
http://www.intermatwrestle.com/rankings/college/Team. Stanford is the only PAC12 wrestling team not listed.

Stanford finished fifth at the Pac-12 wrestling tournament; Oregon State won its second consecutive championship. Bret Baumbach won the conference title at 165 lbs. Three Stanford wrestlers are headed to the NCAAs, which begin Thursday in Des Moines: Baumbach, HWT Dan Scherer and 125-pounder Evan Silver.
As is common in college wrestling conference affiliations, there are only three regular Pac-12 schools with wrestling programs (Stanford, OSU and ASU); the conference fills out with Boise State, C
al State-Bakersfield and C
al Poly-SLO.

The men's tennis team has fallen to b'ball like depths. Men's tennis is a 17 time national champion that made it to the national quarterfinals last year. They are currently ranked 49th in the country and have already lost to #68 TCU. Stanford tennis fans expect a lot more.

That's practically unfathomable. Did Gould retire?

Dick Gould and John Whitlinger co-coached Stanford from 2000 to 2004. Gould moved to "coach emeritus" and Whitlinger has been the coach since then. Since 2001, the Stanford men have won 0 national championships and have not even been in the NC match.

Stanford does not have a great reputation among junior men's tennis players.

In tennis, I got the sense that the college game shifted to where most programs stocked their teams with imported players, starting maybe 15 years ago. I don't think Stanford followed suit. Just looking at SC's roster (last year's champs) their top 4 players include 2 guys from Ecuador and a German player. Georgia is another top program. Their top-6 include guys from India, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, and one home-schooled player.  Would those players meet our entrance requirements?Â
I don't know if our problem is the reputation in junior tennis perhaps as much as our ability or desire to become an international training facility. I can't say I follow it closely but I would be surprised if our issue was coaching.Â

I'm not sure that's it. We had a player from the UK and another from Ireland while I was there, for example. (Haven't followed men's tennis closely so I'm not sure about the current roster.)
The specific reason we had (have, I assume) an iffy rep with juniors in the U.S. is that we're perceived to be poor at developing players, to be clear. We still get very good recruiting classes despite that, however.

I blame it all on Roscoe Tanner...
