Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - 82 Card - 11-16-2013

These guys are repeatedly burning us with passes right at the sideline. None of the teams we have played so far have been as good at catching the pass as they go out of bounds. This expands the width of the field that has to be defended.

More than a little Trojan worship being expressed from the tv announcer's booth.

Well, they have scoreboard.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

Their WRs are better than our CBs...I don't think there are many teams in the country that can say that, but USC can. We're getting pressure with only 3 or 4 man rushes, but Kessler is getting rid of it quickly.

Mason has his work cut out for him. I don't have an easy answer. Maybe more jamming at the line of scrimmage and bringing an extra rusher to try and get Kessler before he has time to get rid of it.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

Looked short there, but I also thought that the spot was short.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - estephan500 - 11-16-2013

Also, I get it, if you are going to pull a narrative out of this game, you have to draw on "the resurgence of the great skilled program..."

And they have also praised cardinal as well.

SC is so pumped now, and that is a major bonus for them, and yes it has to do with "coach O."

And we are going to hear about that weird flubbed first down chains calculation after the game.

I miss Kiffin.

This thread title is annoying the elder gods.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

You can blame the board software for that.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - Bruce Wang - 11-16-2013

We all know what happens.  Try $outhernCal or U$C.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

::)

Right, the game thread title is the reason we're losing.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - dabigv13 - 11-16-2013

USC is calling a fantastic game right now. They can't run on us, but the delayed RB passes and their individual WR skill makes it so they don't need to. I don't know how we can counter this.

We are getting our ass kicked.

If we fall too far behind, we don't have the type of offense well-suited for comebacks.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - washingtonismoney - 11-16-2013

The road/home split on this team is incredible.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - Bruce Wang - 11-16-2013

When we get the ball back, need to run hurry-up.  Hogan has looked good doing that before.

All things considered the offense is doing that badly, but this is the first-half Utah defense we're seeing. All I know is we'd better clamp down, and quickly.

Yeah, the offense is playing like it did against UCLA -- some good stuff but small errors away from success. The defense looks befuddled.

Also, awesome ability to kill the clock isn't so great when you are behind in points.

The team I'm watching right now doesn't deserve a sniff at a NCG.

How we manage to put together the game we did last week, then play like this, is absolutely baffling.

Re: Stanford - Under Stanford Control Thread - Langdude - 11-16-2013

Not tackling well in open field, not playing tight in pass D, not getting pressure on Kessler. Not feeling good about this one.
