Re: (15) Stanford Vs Army: Predict the score - CornFed - 09-10-2014

My framework for these predictions at this point is the assumption that we play in the National Championship.  Last week's aberration is, for now, to be treated as an outlier.  Thus, I believe that we will serve notice this week that we got the message.  I expect that all facets of our team will show dramatic improvements in execution.  Shaw is maybe a bit more amenable to letting the scores pile up.  Just let the big dogs hunt.

My wish list for this game from another thread was posted with tongue in cheek (I admit, I just wanted to use the Caddy Shack line  :D )  It turns out, I think/hope, that quite a few of my wishes will come true.  We will hold Army under 200 yards rushing, we will hold them to 10 points, we will score six (not quite seven) touchdowns, Hogan will throw for over 350 yards and, importantly, we will come out of the game unscathed.  The thing about Sanders may have to be put on hold indefinitely.

Undeferred Stymie's Martial Artistry (1969-1970)      23

I actually expect a blowout for the good guys, but I need to keep doubling down to get off the bottom of Gauss's trash heap.  I'll probably sink lower.

I see 4 touchdowns from McCafffrey's superbly executed Spider3YBanana (sic), no extra points (we go for two every time just for safety), 4 safeties (all coming after punts from the red zone, pinning the Black Knights on the 1)

For the opposition I see 7 field goals and a safety, the latter coming from a botched Wildcat in the waning moments of the game

The line I saw said 30 1/2 I do not think the team will win that big. If they get up by 30 I expect the brakes to be applied. I am going to go with:

Army 17

Re: (15) Stanford Vs Army: Predict the score - Red State - 09-11-2014

SU 49-14. Let's try to run the ball as much as possible and shorten the game. The more possession time SU has, the less the DL will have to contend with those Cut Blocks by the undersized Army OL. SU doesn't need a repeat of the Henry Anderson injury suffered last year vs Army.

Re: (15) Stanford Vs Army: Predict the score - fullmetal - 09-11-2014

Army's DL can also employ cut blocks as well, and those would be more effective when Stanford is run blocking rather than pass blocking.
