And Northwestern WINS!

Re: Utah game thread - Bruce Wang - 11-15-2014

At the risk of jinxing, anybody else think officiating has improved since they fired the head of officiating.

That's the best news of the day.

Re: Utah game thread - OutsiderFan - 11-15-2014

Henry Anderson is having a PHENOMENAL last game on the farm!

Re: Utah game thread - fullmetal - 11-15-2014

With 3:12 left in the 3Q, Stanford's defense has held Utah to 7pts.  The defense has looked very good, picking up some TFL/sacks and covering the bubble screens about as well as their defensive positioning has allowed them.  Hogan needs to make some plays.

Re: Utah game thread - fullmetal - 11-15-2014

Another Utah sack ends a Stanford offensive possession.  I think that's at least the third time Andrus Peat has been beaten this game for a sack.  The replays tell the truth.

I knew we would have trouble with Orchard.  He's tough.  Hogan cant' see Orchard through the Trees.

Utah's figuring out the wrinkles.  Shaw needs to see this and make adjustments.

Stanford's offense playing to the Benny Hill theme.

I haven't trusted any of the aforementioned internet game viewing links, so have been following these posts and watching ESPN Gamecast.

Even without a video feed, this game very much seems like a frustrating snoozer.  What is the main issue here?  Offensive Line or just that the Utah Defense is that tough?

Re: Utah game thread - JohnR34231 - 11-15-2014

Is Utah's defense that good, or our offense that bad? Who knows?

Re: Utah game thread - GoodGrief - 11-15-2014

i feel like Jordan Williamson can make this field goal.

never mind, punt team just came out. hoping for a fake

Re: Utah game thread - dabigv13 - 11-15-2014

This game is just terrible. Don't give me the football purist BS either. Just blegh.

Re: Utah game thread - martyup - 11-15-2014

A punt?  A punt? WTF?

Re: Utah game thread - Kathy - 11-15-2014

Trying to survive & get to overtime?

Re: Utah game thread - dabigv13 - 11-15-2014

The punt was defensible. Probably very low probability Williamson hits that at 51, and 7 yards is a lot to get on 4th.

Ty really ought to have returned that.

Re: Utah game thread - TrumpCard - 11-15-2014

will the game rest on williamson's shoulders?

Hum, a 52-yard FG had perhaps 20% chance of success, 30% max. That's 70-80% chance of Utah having the ball at the 34 yard line, which given the quality of Utah's kicker, is a gamble.

Pinning them on the 7 yard line (some chance of the 20 yard line) probably gave us the best chance at winning.

Re: Utah game thread - OutsiderFan - 11-15-2014

You have to go for it, just to show some confidence in your guys.  You know, like Orgeron did last year on 4th and 9 in the Coliseum.  You had the ball for 8 minutes and didn't score.  Their defense is tired.

Re: Utah game thread - OutsiderFan - 11-15-2014

OK, the Hooper TD, that was a great play call.
