Cajuste is coming back to Stanford next year.

No discussion of Kevin Anderson. He's an academic senior. I sure hope he comes back because he's a warrior and will be especially needed due to Vaughters' graduation.Â

Not trying to show off. I was writing my post while you were posting your question. The news was too good not to make immediately visible.

Some speculation from Wilner:

Note, I wouldn't take this as more than an educated guess, so far, Wilner is 1/2:

I would say that he's 0/1, since Carter had actually already announced his decision at that point. Wilner may have been unaware of it, but it was clearly after the start of this thread saying he was leaving (unless that timestamp is off somehow).
Wilner just ACTS like he's a connected guy - Redrum - 01-02-2015
with his inside report of Hogan transfer to mid-Atlantic school. I, on the other hand, can read posts on the interweb, like, in this case, on the Maryland 247 site.

Mid-Atlantic school? I wouldn't believe it. With Hogan and potential returning starters, next year's team could be back on the national stage again.

Isn't the fifth year transfer rule only applicable in cases the current school doesn't offer the same major as the would be transfer school?

That's pretty much right, but it's for a master's program. It's kind of a ridiculous rule, because I'm guessing no two schools have the same master's programs. It would be pretty easy to find something your old school didn't offer. Also, with football being a fall sport, I'm guessing plenty of guys (though fifth-year transfers don't seem to be too common) never even bother completing their degrees.
If you're someone like Evan Crower, however, it's probably the only way you'd ever see the field, so maybe it isn't so ridiculous.

Speaking of irresponsible journalism, did anyone catch this article on Kevin Hogan over at SI.com?
http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/12/31/stanford-cardinal-maryland-terrapins-foster-farms-bowl-kevin-hogan
The reporter speculates that Hogan might leave because David Shaw didn't trust him enough to change to more of a passing offense. Seriously.

That is laughable. Hogan's threw no more than 20 passes in Stanford's 3 best performances of the year (Cal, UCLA, Maryland). The only other game where he threw fewre than 25 was Davis.
Seems to me that Shaw tried to have Hogan throw more and it didn't work too well.
