Not many 5th year seniors on the 2015 team if the thread on departures is accurate. Maybe 6-8 starters among them.
Kevin Anderson
Brendon Austin
Devon Cajuste
Ronnie Harris
Kevin Hogan
Gautam Krishnamurthi
Ra'Chard Pippens
Patrick Skov
Rollins Stallworth
Austin Tubbs
Remound Wright
Alex Yadzi
I count 9 scholarship players there.
I count another 9 scholarship seniors who will use up there eligibility next season.
That's 18. Adding typical attrition Stanford could probably sign as many frosh as they wish to/can manage in 2016.

Also, Stanford probably will carry over a few unused scholarships.
We should have enough scholarships to bring in 25 new recruits in 2016, which I believe is the maximum allowed by the NCAA.

Not that it matters but I count 79 on scholie so 25 next year very possible. Of course the following year we want about 18 opening plus two for those returning from a mission

I had a look at the seniors using up eligibility and came up with the following.
Josh Garnett
Zach Hoffpauir
Luke Kaumatule
Blake Martinez
Reed Miller
Kyle Murphy
Aziz Shittu
Kodi Whitfield
You counted 9. Who am I missing?

I made a mistake and counted Rector.
Somehow I have imagined images of him playing as a frosh.
It also now occurs to me that I don't know if Miller is on scholarship?

BTW, it's interesting to note that Lyons is returning to Harbaugh's team. Sort of puts the lie to the statement that players don't want to play for him.

I'm just WAGging it, but I'm guessing -- only GUESSING mind you -- that Lyons MAY have heard about Harbaugh from those players senior to him and coaches who had worked with Harbaugh but remained on the Stanford staff. it's just a possibility that he had discussions with said players about Harbaugh's style and system before going to UMichigan.

Just because, 1) he might actually get a chance to play a significant role next year, and 2) it has now happened enough times it's approaching the danger zone of becoming ingrained habit, I will note it is YAZDI - and does not sound like the game that involves rolling several dice.

Wow, so DL depth is down to shittu, kaumatule, lohn, watkins, phillips, and thomas, with one of them injured and one playing only in nickel. That should be interesting.

Jackson and Annan will be added to the mix in the fall.

Is Brennan Scarlett off the table now? Do we know of any other potential incoming transfers? Seems like Stanford really got the short end of the stick on this graduate transfer rule.

Grad school admissions are soon, so will shall see about Brennan in the next two weeks. Of course we could sign more recruits. starting in April. We have done that before. Lorig  8)

If there were one available, would be great to grab a 5th-year senior DT from Michigan. If not, then how about from somewhere else. Is Stanford dead-set against recruiting JCs?
