I use quotations, because it was nothing more than glorified practice and introduction drills. One time we tried to introduce the concept of a scrimmage and all the kids just chase the person with the ball. But I gues that explains why our 3rd/4th grade teams seem to get crush. How you get a bunch of 1st and 2nd graders to play an actual game of basketball was beyond my skill level as coach.

One method to discourage the "swarm of bees" defensive instincts of kids is that every kid on the floor wears a wristband that matches the wristband of one of the opposing players. They are only allowed to guard their own color.

With the arrival of Baby GoodGrief, I wonder if I may be called upon to coach his future sports teams. If so, then my dream of an "All Trick Plays All The Time" team may finally come to fruition.

Amen!  Call me anti-Dawkins all you want.  I will wear that badge with pride, as long as we're talking about him as a head coach and nothing else.  Call me anti-Stanford or saying I don't like Dawkins as a person and we have a BIG FREAKIN' PROBLEM.

It is my passion for excellence at Stanford in EVERYTHING that drives my desire for a new direction for MBB.

Certainly time for a change.  His record speaks loudly.  My concerns are several in The way of change.    He is a nice guy very professional.  Not sure how many here have had one on ones with Dawkins so trust me a very nice person.  My point with this is those in the AD may influence Muir to not make a change given his personality.

We have 3 recruits coming in.  Last time we had a new coach a top player asked for a received his release.  If there is a coaching change the chances are strong 5 are out of a job and one or more recruits may ask out.  Of course anyone we are recruiting now may then be out.

Of course the new coach could be worse as mentioned here. Like  Dowhauer/Wiggin for Walsh.  Wlat for Buddy.  However Muir's track record is so far very good with his 4-5 new hires.

Then there is the contract.  And unknown in length. Or terms

I expect a new coach.  Muir has a good to great basketball background with loads of contacts.  But please a proven Head Coach please.  Not an Assistant

I don't give the ADept much, but the only money they will get from me this year is for the Dawkins buyout fund.
