dabidv- so the coach is to blame for players making dumb mistakes? Glad I am not a coach.

Well, good teams seem to make many fewer dumb mistakes than bad ones. This doesn't seem unreasonable at all. A game or two, sure. But we had hulk last year explaining to us that as soon as we got these dumb plays cleaned up, we'd be great.
At a certain point, there are too many dumb mistakes and you've got to figure out whether another approach would produce fewer. Whether that's keeping a similar scheme and installing a new offensive staff, or changing scheme and installing a new offensive staff, or whatever on the vast menu of options available to a head coach, Shaw has to pick something, because what's going on isn't cutting it. This isn't a young offense.

The head coach is responsible for getting his team to execute. But usually it falls on the coordinators to get the units to execute. The defense is well-coached. Clearly. The offense, not so much.

All of the possible excuses our team had last week, are gone this week. We're playing at home, at the most advantageous time for a west coast team playing an east coast team, against a team that lost to FIU, against a team that is not putting any pressure on us with their own offense.
And our offense looks f*cking terrible.

Let's take that mistake by Meeks. A bad one. But he's playing his second game in his college career. No beef with Akina or Anderson there.
Your veteran, highly-recruited OL doing the same? Repeatedly? That's a problem for someone higher up the food chain.

Does Shaw deserve any of the blame for how awful we have looked to start the season?

If I had made those mistakes in any level of play I would have been benched. So DAV should we bench the starters.

Mad Bum 4 outs from a perfect game.
Channel jumping about to start.
Whups. My fault.

Forget about the virtual reality helmet. We need the Chemistry department to come up with another version of stickum.
Rudruff. Dude. Melvin Upton was 0 for 10 lifetime against madbum until he just broke up that perfect game. I'll trade it for a td here though.
Re: UCF game thread -

so was that a poor call by Shaw on the 4th and 1 or on that punt? What is the call by the brain trust?

jacketree - 09-12-2015
Nah, my fault. Just texted kid about the impending perfecto. Upton's base hit came right after spectacular defense from backup SS.
Oregon driving on Sparty's down 3 with 90 seconds left. Adams missed wide open Marshal for go ahead TD. Really miss Mariota. Down to 4th and 16.Â
Re: UCF game thread -

Nope. Sparty can run clock out. Draymond looks happy.

If Stanford was shutout at home against UCF, would Shaw fire himself as OC?
Re: UCF game thread - Cardinal96 - 09-12-2015
I am trying to find things to be positive about. Our defense has been solid so far. That is about all I can think of. The UCF backup QB is out-playing Hogan. I would like to see a Chryst package one of these series.
