Yeah, no question Luke Falk is the difference in this game. 34/48 and 336 yds, 3TDs, despite the GREAT Pick 6 by Okereke.
And, now a scramble for 1D on 2nd & 6.

12 men on the field. Twice. Delay of game penalties. Except for one play, unimaginative play calling. An offensive line like a sieve. Ugh all the way around.

This team is a lot better at home, so we still have a shot against UW and ND, but I'm not liking our odds if this is the best our offense can do.

It will be interesting to hear the Costello defenders after this game. He looked pedestrian.

Anyway while I expect a loss here I don't think it should terribly alter your view of the team. It's struggled basically all year on the road, quite badly. The defense played well; the offense, not so well. WSU's defense is pretty good. I don't think this is a terribly discouraging game by any means. Sometimes the opponent is pretty good!
Some really stupid errors, of course, but ... again, that's been all season.

Maybe, but if so what did Chryst look like against OSU?

Shaw never met a punt he didnt like.
We have all the talent on the field, and we are a mediocre team. Hmm whos to blame?

On Costello: I don't think one bleh game really erases his virtues. If you were expecting a savior -- well, you probably shouldn't've been in the first place.
I find the offensive line's performance to be the most disappointing aspect of this game. I had thought it had sorted some things out. Apparently that wasn't the case. While WSU is a very good defense, it hasn't even been principally a scheme issue. They're just getting destroyed on one on one matchups, a lot of the time. Very bad.

No argument on the penalties. Dumb. As for the play calling, we can't execute the plays that were called. Running the Statue of Liberty play isn't going to magically solve the offensive problems. What do you want to see?

Surely the difference in opponents matters.

We play well at home. Maybe we still beat UW next week.
