The most shocking box score I've ever seen in my life was Clippers at Grizzlies on March 29, 2023.
As y'all are probably aware, Paula George is out. But Kawhi Leonard also sat out.
Russell Westbrook went 5-5 from 3pt range.
Robert Covington went 7-7 from 3pt range.
The Clippers shot 62% FG and 59% 3pt FG and won 141-132
Memphis is a great defensive team and had won 7 in a row, but nobody is going to win a game against a team that shoots 22-37 from 3 pt line.
For those who say things even out in the end, this same Clippers team shot 9-43 for 3 (21%) in a loss earlier this month at the Warriors.
The Wolves did the Warriors a favor by losing in Phoenix.

Boston 140 Milwaukee 99
Yikes! A couple days after losing by double digits to the Wizards, the Celtics open up a can and beat the Bucks like a dusty rug, pretty much sending a message that they do not fear the Bucks in Milwaukee if they meet in the playoffs.
And the Pelicans dominated the Nuggets sans Jokic, a W that probably helps the Warriors given the W's have the tie-breaker over the Pelicans.
Biggest games Friday night:
Clippers @ Grizzlies
Lakers @ T-Wolves
Nuggets @ Suns

So in addition to a Warrior's win vs San Antonio, a Warriors fan should root for Grizzlies over Clips (Clips are 1 game up on the Warriors), Lakers over T-Wolves (T-Wolves are 1 game back and have the tie-breaker), and Nuggets over the Suns (Suns are 1.5 games up on Warriors and there's NO WAY we catch the Nuggets (Up by 11.5)).

W's win. Suns win too. W's tied for 5/6 place.
3 road games and 1 home game left. W's have to win one on the road. Two would be a miracle. Of course, they have to hold serve against the Thunder at home. . . .

Away game vs. the Nuggets. Not very confident in a win there. Home game vs. Thunder, we should win. two away games, vs. the Kings and Trail Blazers. I think we finish 2-2, beating the Thunder and Trail Blazers.

Nikola Jokic has missed the last two games with a calf strain. If he doesn't return against the Warriors on Sunday, that really increases the odds the W's can snag that game. Memphis is still not out of the running to get the #1 seed in the West. Do the Nuggets rush Jokic back and risk further injury to their most important player by far? Or do they not care about falling to the #2 seed to get Jokic back 100%?
OKC really did kill themselves losing to Indiana last night. They have the Suns, Warriors, and Grizzlies to come. The fact OKC plays the Suns, Warriors, and Grizzlies in the last week is why I picked the Mavericks for #10.
In JUST before April 1...

And... the Warriors wake up Sunday morning to find themselves in 5th place thanks to Clippers taking the L in the Big Easy Saturday night.
It appears based on Dallas taking the L in Miami, that the Warriors have 99%+ guaranteed themselves they will not miss the post-season given their tie-breaker over Mavericks, Pelicans, and that they will get over OKC by winning on Tuesday. They can now finish anywhere from #5 to #10, with it looking like #6 the most likely, 10th a remote possibility.
It's amazing how many seeding outcomes are still possible with just a week left in the regular season.
And it seems the tea leaves are suggesting Andrew Wiggins will in fact be returning. One would think he would want a game or two to play before the play-offs start, so might we see him back Friday night in Sacramento, or next Sunday in Portland? Or could it be that the team wants to get him on the floor for the last home game of the season to hear the support of the fans at Chase Center, and that means a Tuesday night return?

Terrible loss for T-Wolves at home against lottery-bound Blazers today.
Bulls beat Grizzlies, which really helps Nuggets, so...
Nikola Jokic is out vs. Warriors tonight. This game went from Nuggets -3.5 to Warriors -3.5 as a result. The Warriors might want to try winning this game to stay ahead of the Lakers in the loss column, as they are playing at Houston tonight.

Road warriors strike again, losing to Jokic-less Denver.
That said I don’t feel as horribly about this loss as some others. Some nights the shots don’t go in and the warriors went 5 for their last 34 3 pointers including a wide open Klay 3 for the win. Steph was 2/14 from beyond the arc and no one else had a hot night to fill in the gap. Looney and hustle kept them in it by winning the rebounding battle.
Would have liked to see more attacking the paint when the shots werent falling, which really only Poole and DDV (and to a lesser extent Steph) did tonight going a combined 14/18 from two.
This is also why Poole, even though he drives you crazy with mistakes and defense, is so necessary for this team. When the shotS aren’t falling, he is the only guy other then Steph who can reliably get to the rim and the free throw line. Hopefully with time Kuminga will join that list.

The Warriors are trying to get the 6th seed. If they beat the Nuggets, their odds of getting 5th were pretty high. The Wolves loss to Portland helped them immensely.
Now OKC on Tuesday is a must win to avoiding play-in.

My guess is he plays vs. OKC so he can get a game at Chase Center, but we will of course see.

If they avoid the play-in they will get nearly a week off to practice, which is more valuable now than games, IMO.
Wiggins reportedly will attend OKC game, which he of course must in order to play, but "plans to attend" isn't something you hear associated with someone actually playing. Then again, Friday isn't "early in the week" either.

I lost my dad around that age so I feel for him. I sort of thought it was one of his kids though. I don’t know why.

They're not far enough out of the playin to be playing those kind of games. We should focus on getting in first. Now if the last game of the season rolls around and we can lose to get the 6th seed, then go ahead and rest some guys.

The current Western Conference 6-10 all play Tuesday night.
#10 Thunder at #6 Warriors
#9 Wolves at Nets
Kings at #8 Pelicans
#7 Lakers at Jazz
If Warriors win...
- They clinch above .500
- Clinch or all but clinch no worse than 8th, depending on what Wolves do in Brooklyn
As for playing games to avoid the 5th seed, the Warriors - who will be in 5th if they win tonight - aren't the only team that could be doing this. Neither the Warriors, Lakers, Clippers, or Pelicans want the 5th seed to play Suns in Round 1. They also don't want to be in the play-in, so four teams are "jockeying" for the 6th seed.
The Clippers and Lakers both play the Suns in their last two games. As much as they don't want to face them in playoffs, they also don't want to lose to a team they will face in the playoffs.
Will be interesting to see if the Lakers rest players in Utah since they play tomorrow, played Sunday, and the Clippers will have been off since Saturday.

Warriors rooting interest:
* Warriors must win vs current 9th place Thunder
* Grizzlies trounce Clips
(2nd most important game for the Dub since Clippers in 5th and Warriors in 6th. We want the Clips to continue their freefall)
* T-Wolves beat Lakers
(Mild interest in Lakers losing as T-Wolves are likely play-in game bound either way. Lakers are hot, play a weak schedule, and have a good chance of catching Dubs. That isn't all bad. See end of season scenario below)
* Nuggets over Suns
(Don't care. The Warriors aren't catching the Nuggets and might catch the Suns but Suns most likely have 4th place sewn up. Dubs want to avoid a Suns/Dubs round 1 with its KD vs Dubs drama so not bad if Suns win either)
I'm hoping for a end of season standings of:
1) Nuggets
2) Grizzlies
3) Kings
4) Suns
5) Lakers
6) Warriors
7) Clippers
8) Pelicans
9) Timberwolves
10) Thunder
This leads to a Round 1 match with the Kings and a likely Round 2 vs the Grizzlies. Both would be tough but beat the nightmare of Suns and Nuggets respectively as could very well happen. Both are terrible match-ups for the undersized and road challenged Warriors.

Kendrick Perkins hates the Warriors because they beat his Celtics for the LOB last season. If he is a barometer, the NBA has trepidation about the impact of Andrew Wiggins returning now the GP2 is back too.
Perk downplayed the value of Wiggins since there are "only three games left in the regular season" because he doesn't want the Warriors to be a threat. Chiney disagreed and said adding Wiggins back is a big deal, because she - like most people paying attention to this - have seen enough NBA to know great players are great when they return* after absence. And Wiggins isn't returning from injury as is typically the case, so he had nothing keeping him from keeping up his conditioning. I don't think Wiggins will take much time to be a net positive that impacts winning, because he plays defense and rebounds.
* Klay Thompson maybe wasn't but he missed nearly 2.5 seasons and rust was to be expected, but the W's still won a championship after he returned.
