hope he recovers quickly and fully.

Is this the first we're hearing of KJ Britt?
Here's a recent article:

But from earlier reports it didn't seem like we were on the radar screen until recently.

I believe Drukarev posted tweets from Britt reacting to Stanford wins last year? I know I've heard of him for a while.
FWIW, 247 is convinced he will choose either Georgia or Auburn.

I think Britt has been kind of a fringe candidate, mainly because most people think it's too hard for Stanford to pull a kid out of SEC territory, even with ample evidence to the contrary.

There were also a few stories earlier this spring indicating Britt and his teammate, TD Moultry were considering committing as part of a "package" deal. Moultry has since committed to Auburn so kudos to Britt if he's realized he should fully explore and pursue his options

Here is a recent video concerning KJ Britt:

It would be nice to report that in his return on national TV against another highly ranked QB Mills lit up the scoreboard. Unfortunately he didn't in a 21-17 loss, although he did run for one TD and pass for another. His stats were an anemic 5 for 17 for 44 yards.
Oh well. Disappointing but perhaps understandable given the fact he is coming off an injury.

How did our other QB recruit (Jack West) do, you may ask? Unfortunately not much better. He was 10 for 20 for 90 yards (including a 46 yard pick 6) in leading his team to a 42-7 loss.
Most impressive performance at QB by a Stanford recruit was West Linn's (Oregon) Tim Tawa, who led his team to a 42-21 victory in a game matching two of Oregon's top teams. He's coming here for baseball, though. Couldn't find the final stats, but his teammate Elijah Molden (who we are recruiting for football) apparently really lit it up.

From what I saw of Mills, seemed like he was getting up to speed post-injury -- a lot of wayward throws. Then again, his receivers also had four drops.

I only saw the last part of the game, and Valor Christian looked pretty dominant. Wonder if the altitude had any effect on GAC.
Oh well, at least the McCaffreys are happy.
Looks like Colby Parkinson has now been bitten by the injury bug.
TE/DE Colby Parkinson - Oaks Christian HS (Westlake Village, Calif.)
More injury news swept through #CardClass17 as Parkinson was spotted on crutches after the 49-17 loss to St. Joseph's (Philadelphia) Prep. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Parkinson and Lions head coach Jim Benkert both said after the game that it the injury was a severe high ankle sprain, and that they would know more after Parkinson visited the doctor. Stats were not readily available for this game, but he did reel in these two catches against the Eagles.

The guy is a beast, though. In one highlight catch it took five of the opposition to bring him down.

I don't think this poor performance is cause for concern. Evaluating a quarterback with game film is notoriously difficult because there's no way to account for the talent around him on offense. Years ago, when Matt Barkley was one of the most sought after recruits in the nation, I watched his Mater Dei team face off against Corona Centennial. If you hadn't known who he was, you'd never have guessed that he was Division I material, except for maybe a throw or two. On the other hand, Vontaze Burfict was playing on the other side of the ball, and even a novice could've recognized his freakish talent. (Sadly, you could also recognize his immaturity.) Anyway, I don't think we need to worry about Mills or West.

The harder factor in evaluating Mills's play is his injury. Some of his passes were very wayward. On the other hand, his receivers dropped at least four passes, some of which would've contributed significantly to total yardage.
My main worry w/r/t Mills is that he's been rushed too soon to the field.

Hopefully this was one bad game accentuated by his rustiness in just coming back from an injury. We'll see how he does as the season goes on. GAC has gone deep in the GA state playoffs for the last two years, so I think he has a fair amount of talent surrounding him.
