Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-21-2015

Nice try by Rector, lol.  He had the first down had he not tried for more yardage.  And Wright does it again.  I assume someone scouted Wright and knew he likes to go high.

By the way, going into this game, Wright has carried the ball 21 times with 1-3 yards to go.  He has 16 first downs and 4 touchdowns.

Yeah, now we need Oklahoma State to beat Oklahoma and TCU to beat Baylor.

C'mon Owusu....

Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-21-2015

Good call going for it on fourth and inches.

Rector got a bad spot.

Even if it had been short.  I think next time we need to play fake.  Cal is stacking the box.

Anyone else tired of bunch formation?

Needed some luck there.

California has it figured out.

Re: Big Game Thread - FarmBoy - 11-21-2015

Our short yardage offense is looking vulnerable.

I don't feel bad about the generous 4th down placement considering how bad the 3rd down placement was.

Re: Big Game Thread - jacketree - 11-21-2015

Hogan missed a TD

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-21-2015

Should've gone for it....

Re: Big Game Thread - jacketree - 11-21-2015

Letting 'em hang around.  Not real sharp so far.

And yet we have 1 TD and 1 first down in two tries.  Plus the over-the-top play is there if we want it.

Teams have figured out the Hogan option.

Re: Big Game Thread - amartinsu13 - 11-21-2015

I hate the QB run to the short side of the field.  Everything bunches up way too quickly and the holes aren't big enough for Hogan to get through.

Yes, we should have.

Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-21-2015

Cal is one-dimensional, but they are doing well with that one dimension.  We need to get some semblance of a pass rush.

Gonna be death by a thousand cuts....

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-21-2015

We need to stop blitzing him. All of these routes are so quick. We're never gonna get to him with 3 or 7, so might as well drop some into coverage sometimes.

Re: Big Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-21-2015

Finally they called Cal on the offensive PI.

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-21-2015

They got away with it on the 4th down play. Good on the refs for finding it.

And BTW shut up Todd McShay!

Re: Big Game Thread - dabigv13 - 11-21-2015

In other news, TCU now just down 7, with 6 minutes and change against Oklahoma...
