Also, 27 is the number of players who recorded a tackle against Iowa in the Rose Bowl.

24 days to kickoff!

And is there a better number than 24-23, Stanford over USC?!
By the way, I really wish that they would have used the radio call in the tweet. I mean "Touchdown USC, I mean Stanford" and then "he's going to go for two, no wait, they're tied, of course he'll go for the extra point".

Twenty-two points is the total points scored in our first game last season in our pathetic losing effort against Northwestern. Let our team never forget that they need to come ready to lay the wood in every game, regardless of the opponent. GO CARD!

I prefer that 22 is the most points our seniors have surrendered to Cal. They have never lost Big Game.

19 DTK. I had missed this video last year when Jordan Williamson talked about his personal growth after missing 2 FGs in the Fiesta Bowl. If you have kids, this is a great lesson to share about resilience.

1. Glad Jordan rebounded well from Fiasco Bowl (which is only about 25% on him; the other 75% was on the coaching for not putting Stanford in best position to win that game);
2. In the video, Jordan references his freshman year, when he was making everything, and it reminded me how freaking INCREDIBLE JW was as a PK for Stanford. The guy had the best combo of quick height and distance of any kicker I have ever seen play at Stanford. The injury hampered him - mentally more than physically, I think - but early in this career (in particular) that guy was an amazing FG kicker. Just amazing. No surprise that he holds all time leading points record at Stanford.

Since you bring up freaking INCREDIBLE place kicking, I think we should give kudos to our current kicker Conrad Ukropina.
A year ago at this time we thought we were dead on place kicking as Ukropina missed a bunch in the 2015 spring game. Come season, not only were his kicks as down the middle as I ever remember seeing, but he set the all time record for Stanford FG kicking percentage at 90% (18-20).
That was fantastic and unexpected.

How about this #17 who was recruited to Stanford as a QB. He ended up at another position.

That game in South Bend was one for the ages. The only time ND moved the ball was when he went to the locker room in the 2nd quarter IIRC. Even "the bus" looked like a beanbag when Lynch would hit him.Â

Lynch played like a man possessed (in other words his usual game) against ND. I remember Bettis coming through the line with a full head of steam. Lynch hit him, stopped him dead in his tracks and separated him from the ball. It was awesome.

It's a different game today with the targeting rule. Most of the hits in Lynch''s highlight video would now be flagged for targeting. He was a beast.

The one hit by Lynch I will always remember was against a Lack of Institutional Control running back. Toss sweep to the right, and Lynch came up like a missile to knock him backwards 2-3 yards in a wide-open field.

One of the few times I heard the old stadium just go "oooh" on a hit, then explode. And nowhere near targeting.
