From Kyle Bonagura
Quote:UCLA QB Josh Rosen has taken some shots at the Bruins' tendency to run inside zone plays too frequently, but that play has been very effective for former Bruins offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone and Texas A&M. Meanwhile, with 9:08 left in the third quarter, UCLA's new-look offense hasn't found the end zone.
Ouch.

Rosen's missed two should-be TDs and badly missed another long gainer. He's been -- and I know it's difficult to conceive given the media attention -- bad today.

Sure glad to have our QB duo.
Re: Week 1 Games of Interest -

Suddenly our offensive woes don't feel that bad.
Rosen is flirting with a sub-.500 completion percentage and a 5 yards per attempt average.
I would guess that Texas A&M defense is better than K-States, and that McCaffrey would take some pressure off Rosen if Rosen had him in the backfield. Still, a comparison between our QB making his first start and Josh Rosen would not be kind to Mr. Rosen.

Yes, thank you David Shaw.
Wisconsin is breaking in a new QB and it's been painful.

Rosen threw another interception.
His line is now 20/37, 222 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT
He had just engineered UCLA's best drive of the game so far, starting on their three and getting 1st and 10 on the 20 yard line. Bad, bad INT.

In the mean time, the Ducks have recovered from a shaky start. They are up 25-7 at the half.

The 'ruins have about 7 minutes to make this respectable...otherwise it's a bad reflection on the entire Pac 12. Many missed opportunities.

Rosen's had three consecutive games with multiple picks, per CBS.

Mississippi State from the almighty SEC goes down to the South Alabama Jaguars, a team I've never even heard of. Especially if LSU loses to Wisconsin, that will take some shine off of the SEC.
Not that it will matter in the end.

Wiscy seals the deal with a late pick.

Lack of class at the end of that play.

Sadly not exactly out of character for them. Nice win for Uncle Paul though!

Had to look up who these Jaguars are. From Wikipedia: "The South Alabama Jaguars football program, established in 2009, represents the University of South Alabama in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, of which it became a member in 2012." They play in Sunbelt conference. They lost their first bowl game in 2014 and were not bowl eligible last year.

Somehow....UCLA's back in this????
Re: Week 1 Games of Interest -

And UCLA burns their final timeout because they don't have a two point conversion play ready. Classic UCLA -- can't win even when it's winning.

Well worth the time out. 2 pointer ties score.

It's *worth* the timeout, sure, but I believe a really well-coached team would've had a two-pointer ready.

Quote from announcers on UCLA game: "Panic is now officially going around the SEC conference."

Agree. Lots of other signs of lack of good coaching. UCLA looks like they have talent. With good coaching, they could be contenders.
