I get that. But there are still ways of punishing a defense that's stacking the box. Stretch the field out using jet sweeps or reverses. (Bryce Love and Michael Rector are pretty good at this!)
Or try mixing it up -- throw on first and second down before you get behind schedule.
Not saying any of this magically wills a top-25 offense into being. I just would like to see something other than the bash-your-forehead-into-a-brick-wall-and-see-which-wins-first.
Also, what is with Stanford's addiction to shotgun runs? If you're not going to give the QB the ability to pull the ball -- which apparently ours don't, or rarely do -- then it's not a very good play.

I think this is not the type of creative play calling we were hoping for

What's the point of bringing Chryst in for another doomed shotgun run (no QB run option) on 1st-and-20.
And another freaking hold. This is ridiculous. Shaw needs to overhaul the offensive coaching staff.

Is Walt Harris coaching today?

Are we almost at "unwatchable"?

Comically bad possession.

We'll do good to punt it back to the first down marker. >:(

What's ridiculous about this is ... there's no point, it's all futility. Why are the coaches shuttling QBs in and out to run the exact same doomed plays? Why did the return of McCaffrey dictate the same monomanaical approach? It's so dumb.
Re: Colorado game thread -

Perez was a matador on that play.

We had 2 timeouts before that last play. We blew 15 seconds there. Wow.

If Shaw were a lawyer, his client would have a good case for malpractice for that first half of football.

It just feels so out of character.
But I guess ND, MSU, Oregon, and other fans also feel similarly. (Not that this matters much.)
