I don’t know if it was the best performance of the Shaw era, but that second and third quarter were phenomenal.  After going up 14-7 and stopping us on our third drive, it was not looking like it would be one of Shaw’s best games.  And then this happened...
UW: 8 plays, 59 yards, turnover on downs
SU: 10 plays, 61 yards, FG
UW: 3 plays, 8 yards, punt
SU: 3 plays, 22 yards, end of half
UW: 3 plays, 3 yards, punt
SU: 9 plays, 65 yards, TD
UW: 5 plays, 28 yards, punt
SU: 13 plays, 81 yards, FG
UW: 2 plays, 6 yards, Fumble
SU: 6 plays, 17 yards, FG
UW: 3 plays, -19 yards, punt
SU: 2 plays, 14 yards, TD

Each team had 6 drives:
UW: 24 plays, 85 yards, 0 points (4 plays per drive, 12.5 yards per drive, 0 points per drive, 3.5 ypp)
SU: 43 plays, 260 yards, 23 points (7 plays per drive, 43 yards per drive, 3.8 points per drive, 6 ypp)

Ah yes, the Crying Game.

Remember Dux getting uncomfortably close after returning a blocked FG for a TD.

Was this the game when “turtling” was coined?

Granted it's been a few years, but I don't think we were turtling that game, that was just our strategy that year and specifically for that game.  Take a loooooot of time on each drive and get what points you can.  It just happens that Oregon was built for lightning speed attacks, so nothing was safe against them.  That said, the tone of the game definitely changed after the blocked FG.  If that doesn't happen, we might've won by 20.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the Fiesta Bowl vs.  Oklahoma State was when that term started getting used.
