According to the Santa Cruz article, she apparently told Tara Monday night.
I wonder if Tara let out (or tried to stifle) a fist pump when she heard the decision. =)

Also from the Santa Cruz article, there was a good reason we were on pins and needles and Tara might have been relieved as much as excited,

UConn only had room for one recruit, who was still a Top 50 player. But since recruiting rankings depend on volume, that would probably explain why UConn is not ranked.
I'll bet if Stanford had a fifth recruit, even outside the Top 50, we'd be #1.

UConn has tons of room. They never come close to the max of 15 scholarship players. But Geno "has no plan B," and all but one of his 2019 targets went elsewhere, so he wound up with only one in the class.
