Need playmakers on defense too. Cal's LB Evan Weaver had 22 tackles today. Averaging 15 tackles a game this season. Not bad for a 3 star recruit.

Panthers now up 21-0 vs. UCF in the first half. Guess Gabriel and his torrid offense are kind of ordinary against a legitimate defense. Yes, the Knights are playing at Pitt, but so far Narduzzi has neutered the up-tempo UCF offense. Rod Gilmore, Stanford graduate, is often commenting on how Stanford was outmanned, outschemed and outplayed last week. Hmmm.

Good for Cal. They fought hard and deserve the win. I’m not sure the second to last play wasn’t a touchdown, but yeah, stopping a team on the goal line as time runs out... good for them.
Undefeated teams left in the PAC-12.... cal, ASU, WSU. Cal and ASU play next Friday. WSU travels to Utah next Saturday.

Michigan going 0/10 on third down is... unexpected.
We put up more yards on Northwestern than MSU did, and gave up fewer yards to NW. looking for a silver lining, but NW is 1-2 and likely to wind up losing the next three straight (at Nebraska, hosting Ohio State, and Iowa).

Gabriel, who couldn’t miss against us, is 10/19 for 70 yards and two interceptions against Pitt. Pitt is up 21-10 at the half.

Hopefully the Badgers' thorough stomping of Harbs will once and for all silence those tempted to run counterfactuals about Stanford's trajectory had Harbaugh stayed. In my mind, there is genuinely no question that Harbaugh does not know how to maintain hard-gottten gains and really only knows how to explode bad teams and rebuild them. We have a mountain of problems this season, but seldom has a coach had so many brobdingnagian whiffs against top rivals with as much talent as he's had in Ann Arbor.

Pitt's defense gives up 31 straight points. Maybe UCF's offense is for real. Narduzzi has let this one slip away, or so it seems at this point.

ASU is also no longer undefeated, falling to Colorado at home 34-31.
Cal might be the only undefeated Pac team left (if UCLA can complete
an all-time comeback from down 32 points; currently down 10).
