The keys:
Only 7 turnovers
Brown and Jones 4 for 15 for 8 points.

When all is said and done, going 1-1 on the Oregon road trip is probably the best anyone can reasonably expect. Really glad we didn’t add insult to injury by giving up the game tying three at the end

A tough tough win that does the team proud, and gosh where would we be without the Hulls, Lacie’s last foul notwithstanding.
Here’s hoping Jones’ injury is not as bad as it looked.
Our depth is fading fast. But our best all-around five just might be Prechtel, Fingall, the Hulls, Williams. Very good D and just enough O to get by.

I wonder how the voters will look at this week end. Going 1-1 on the road against pair of top ten teams shouldn’t be much cause for a drop; on the other hand that was a pretty bad loss to Oregon. I suspect we will be around 5th when the rankings come out.

Oregon steamrolls a lot of opponents, so even a blowout loss shouldn't hurt too much.
My chief concern right now is with our health and our once vaunted depth. Here's hoping that Jones' injury is not as bad as it looks and then Carrington and/or Dodson can make miraculous comebacks sometime sooner than later.
We have a softer part of our schedule coming up fortunately. We have the "mountain" schools next weekend at home, Colorado and Utah and then a trip up to Washington and WSU. Though those schools aren't pushovers, if we play well, even without the injured trio, we should win.

Oregon is up 57-25 on Cal and it’s not even halftime. So our loss isn’t quite as bad, but of course we were the #3 team in the country and top 5 teams aren’t supposed to get steamrolled, even on the road to other top 5 teams.

No, they are not. But Team USA is not supposed to lose to a college team in Matthew Knight Arena, either. Basically, Oregon is the equivalent of a WNBA team in a lot of ways, and our loss is not nearly as mystifying as ASU's and Louisville's wins.

According to espn.com, the Win Probability for Oregon over Cal hit 99.9% with about 3 minutes left in the second quarter and hasn't dropped below that since. It's now 83-40, just prior to the end of Q3.
Ouch...

Some very questionable calls & non-calls in this game.
Off the top of my head,
- the non-call of backcourt in the first half (Q1 3:05: as previously, after a defensive touch, the ball never goes into the back court, possession is regained in the front court and the player then steps in the back court).
- the horrible non-call on a moving screen (Q4 7:47) that sent one of the Hulls sprawling
- the non-call on the OSU body knocking Prechtel (who had the ball in her hands up high) to the ground after the final rebound, resulting in the ball being knocked loose. That gave OSU another chance, but Kiana came up with it.
(It was hard to see live, but the reset of the shot clock at 3Q 7:10 was apparently correct.)
I'm proud of the team fighting back from the early deficit. I congratulate Tara on whatever she did to change the defense to stop Slocum in the 2nd half. Also, on coaching the team not to repeat the mistakes the men did. (Granted, we did use a timeout to advance the ball, but she had one.) The non-shooting foul given with 6 seconds left was smart as 2 FT is less than the 3PT difference.
A good recovery for the team. Here's hoping Jones has a good recovery.

What's wrong with Fran? I haven't seen the game, was out all day. I'd rather have lost the game and kept the players. Too many injuries. A sad state when the team is doing so well.

I did not know that anything was wrong with Belibii, although I thought it odd that she did not play. News reports quote Tara as saying she will wait for an MRI before commenting on Jones.

I remember the broadcasters saying that Fran was all the bench all game but there was no injury reported on her. They were surprised that she hadn't played at all.

They also mentioned that tara may have thought type of game wasn't right for her
Just read Graham Hays article, tara mentioned sprained ankle for Fran

Prechtel and Fingall were superb.
Fingall’s maturity really shows when she is battling younger post players. Just really all around solid.
Prechtel is going to be really, really good. I thought she looked much better than OSU’s bigs. Her outside shot is as good as I’ve seen at 6’5”.
I was not impressed with Brown for them. Jones had some nice post moves, but neither was as good as Prechtel.

Sorry, I thought it was in the linked article. ESPN said Fran was held out due to a sprained ankle. Interesting that the announcers didn't know that, they just said something like "Tara is holding her out because it's not her type of game..."

I still can't find anything to confirm that. Was anyone at the game? Was Belibi in a boot?
If true, then the list of the injured is getting to be very frustrating: Carrington, Dodson, Jones, Belibi, Brewer. That is 1/3 of the team. Remember when we thought our rotation might be as many as 10-11, significantly up from Tara's usual 7? Well, tonight 6 players got almost exactly 90% of the minutes, and one of them was injured and might not be in the rotation going forward.

On the injuries issue, hopefully Belibi's injury is short-lived, like when Lacie sat out a couple games due to her injury. On a more macro level, I know that Carrington has had knee injuries in high school and Haley's injury was obviously during a game, but as far as I can remember, Dodson and Brewer's initial injuries were not in-game. It is troubling both players haven't had played at all during the entire season, despite these conditions having started last season. I know because of privacy laws, health issues can't really be revealed (though I find this inconsistent as Fran's injury was reported by Tara, wasn't it? and we knew that Nadia had a torn ACL after the USC game, but then other injuries are kept more tightly guarded?), but it seems that at this point, we might have to be prepared that both players won't play at all during this season or even the possibility that they might have to medically retire.
Also, with Belibi's sprained ankle, Lacie's brief injury earlier this season and wasn't Jump unavailable for a game or two?, that strength & conditioning might need a second look with all these random off-game injuries. You would expect that players would be healthy when not in a gametime situation.
On the depth issue, IMHO, the non-conference season was Tara's try-outs for who was performing the best on both ends of the floor and it looks like that Williams, the Hull sisters, Fingall, Prechtel and Jones have rocketed to the top of the list. In close game situations which we are going to encounter, she wants her most reliable players out there as much as possible (except to give them rest, foul trouble and certain matchups).
Wilson seemed like she had trouble guarding Slocum in the first half and she hasn't produced much offensively to justify keeping her in if she can't be more effective defensively, Jerome after high pre-season hopes with the great performance in the exhibition against the Chinese team hasn't reproduced that level again, she seems to be reacting slower to the high pace of play. Jump is a great 3-point shooter but everyone knows that by now and so she is closely guarded and she will need to show more of the moves that led to the backdoor layup today to keep defenses more honest against her and her defensive capabilities haven't caught up to her shooting yet and Belibi, even when she was healthy, hasn't shown a more reliable inside scoring game (that we badly need) for Tara to keep her in for longer stretches of time either as Fingall can provide the same scoring output while having the added bonus of veteran knowledge and leadership.
So that leaves the starters and Prechtel as players that Tara is leaning on more heavily as we get into the depth of the conference race. Perhaps with this somewhat easier part of our schedule coming up, we can open up leads (even without Jones) and give our starters much needed rest for when we have to play the Oregon schools, the Arizona schools and the SoCal schools in the last half of the conference schedule and give the other healthy half of our team (especially our freshmen Jump and Belibi) opportunities to work on their game.
