Jonathan Broxton (Dodgers)?  I think he was 6'4", 300 lbs.

BC wins again.

Hey, he was this century!  I can answer those.  Actually, I think my peak baseball obsession was 1990 - 2005.  My Jays actually won it all a couple of times then.  Until the Raptors won it in 2018, it was the most recent major sports championship for a team from Canada.

Brings up a good trivia question.  Which was the last Canadian NHL team to win a Stanley Cup (they won it the same year as the Blue Jays won the MLB title)?

BC

Another Toronto question. When Mark Gardner the future Giant actives by the Blue Jays what future Hall of Famer was sent to the minors

RE: Baseball trivia - Phogge - 06-08-2020

Guessing it was the Habs.

RE: Baseball trivia - BobK - 06-08-2020

Btw Jamie Moyer born in 62 pitched 2012.

Someone born 1906 pitched 1965

RE: Baseball trivia - Phogge - 06-08-2020

Mark Gardner never pitched for Toronto. He came up with the Expos.

Then probably Randy Johnson Bobbbbbbbbbb.

I pitched for 23 seasons in MLB, won 245 games, never won 20 but have an era title. I am the first from my country to play in the majors. Who am I?

Milt Pappas?

Eight pitchers have won 200 or more games while not winning 20 in any one season.  Name them:

Yes Johnson who then was traded to the Mariners.

Bert Byleven

Who was the first DH in the NL?

RE: Baseball trivia - terry - 06-09-2020

Blyleven is my first guess too. If not him, then maybe Dennis Martinez of Nicaragua?

RE: Baseball trivia - Phogge - 06-09-2020

Byleven won 20 game once. He finished with 287.

Terry wins... Dennis Martinez. Also got a mention in a film about the Nicaraguan revolution with Nick Nolte.

I will try to get started Mick

Dennis Martinez
David Wells?
Jerry Reuss?
Charlie Hough?
Tim Wakefield?

First NL DH in regular season play is??

Reuss, Martinez, Wakefield, Hough, all correct.  Wells was like Krukow, won exactly twenty games exactly once.

Frank Tanana was 240-236, won 19 once.
Chuck Finley won exactly 200 games, won 18 twice, his high water mark.
Kenny Rogers won 219, with 18 wins one time as his high water mark.
Milt Pappas won 219, with two 17-win seasons.
