Well you may be correct BC. I hear their is a MBer in the south we could be after. A 2022. But my contact doesn’t know who or what state.

The MB recruit from the south is likely Marianna Singletary from South Carolina. She is the #12 recruit on prepvolleyball for 2022, though many think she is a top 10 recruit. Her dad posted pictures of her at Stanford last summer and seemed excited she was at the camp of the reigning national champions.
Here is some video of her. This is from summer of 2018, which would mean just finished 8th grade and entering her frosh year in high school. So, I am sure she has developed more since.

Also, here are some highlights of Jordan Middleton from last year.

Awesome spike. Hope this is the player.
Hope I can Confirm at some point.
Thank you for Marianna and the Middleton video
Middleton is the # 2 2022 player but again I hear maybe not for us.

Thanks for the Singletary video Spike. Hope you post again. Here are some more recent videos:

She is currently listed at 6'5" and 187 pounds. That is an imposing athlete. I'm a fan. She still has a ways to go on refining her technique. She reminds me a little of Foluke as a freshman at Stanford whom was described by many as a project.
I saw she went to camp at U$C last summer so I won't get my hopes up unless some insider says Stanford is near the top of her list.

Singletary also drives from South Carolina to Georgia for club practice a few times a week. Super crazy!

So it sounds like she's a pretty driven individual.......
Seriously though - that's from Charleston to Atlanta, like a 4-5 hour drive each way. Makes any SF Bay area commute I know of, including my own, look downright <puny> in comparison....

Five conferences plan to have a fall WVB season and most likely also a spring WVB season. They should have an advantage over all the other teams.
Or, as one Sun Belt coach cracked, “We are one of the five people [conferences] who don’t leave after the bartender said ‘Last call!’”
I think Stanford WVB is taking a week off from practice. Bobbk, do you know when they start up again?
If any of the conferences decide to play in the fall and not play in the spring all their players get an additional year of eligibility.
Anyway, the coaches are facing another nightmare of their own, this one with recruiting and scholarships. Because the NCAA also declared:
”Additionally, all fall sport student-athletes will receive both an additional year of eligibility and an additional year in which to complete it, as the Council suggested, through a blanket waiver.”

Weird to have two seasons but it’s a weird year.
No I don’t know about practices.
Guessing we start play About March

Jordan Middleton to USC, per her Instagram. And that puts to rest any rumors about her connection to Stanford (if there were any to begin with).
The 2022 class is one where we can afford not to have a great class, but definitely puts more pressure on 2023.

With Middleton commiting to USC and Keefe to Duke recently here are the 3 possibles for 2022 I’m aware of
# 12 Singletary 6-5 MB
# 14 Rubin 6-2 OH.
# 69 Olson 6-4 OH.
As Palo Alto pointed out Olson has heart surgery a year or so ago but came back to play HS. Doubtful she played much Travel this the lower ranking right now

I just read this on another message board and it seems crazy. For all fall sports with no fall NCAA championship the athletes get an additional year of eligibility. But the crazy thing is the additional year scholarships do not count against a team's limit.
So as I understand, if Stanford WVB has 12 players on scholarship this season, every one of them gets an additional year (even if they play in a spring NCAA championship) and none of those 12 additional year scholarships count against the team limit. A really unfair advantage for schools like Stanford who may be able to foot the bill for additional scholarships beyond what would normally be planned.

Just posted. On the tennis courts
Well I can’t seem to post the photo of the team practicing
RE: Recruiting:Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 08-23-2020
Is it the county of Santa Clara that won't let them practice indoors? All the other top WVB teams I looked at have been practicing indoors.

And now Singletary is off the board... she's off to Texas, per her IG.

Oh-for-three is a tough way to start our 2022 recruiting. Between the recruiting success in the class of 2021 and the fact that students may get an extra year of eligibility, having a down year in 2022 might be ok. But still, when was the last time that the top three women on our board decided to go elsewhere?

We never really know about the admissions angle of course. But we move on.
RE: Recruiting:Women’s Volleyball -

This far out from admission, I don't think they would have had a decision one way or another (unless they clearly had some bad sophomore grades, and given everything with COVID, even that might not have sealed their fate). But they would know what it would have taken to get in, and they might not have wanted to take that on.
