RE: WBB Schedule - Softball Fan - 12-04-2020
By Wednesday 12/9 we will know a lot more about this Stanford team. All three games are winnable but the team has to actually get on the court and execute on three separate occasions. The Stanford players have to be pumped up about playing after so much scheduling indecision. You can bet their opponents are also pumped to be playing against the #1/#2 team in the country.
Will the PAC-12 Network be nimble enough to get to Vegas by tomorrow to set up their operation. Covering the #1/#2 team in the country should carry some weight. I would guess if they go to the trouble to cover the one game in Vegas, they will likely cover both games while they are set up.
Would someone like to set up separate threads for each game so the Covid discussion can stay on this thread?

As the home team UNLV (or its conference) has the broadcast rights to the game tomorrow, so I doubt Pac-12 Networks would send a mobile crew there. I'm just thankful that UNLV's site says it will be live steamed by the WCC
For the games against the Washington schools, who knows, but I'll be happy if we get a livestream again, and even that can't be assumed.

Good thing the team is so deep -
three two games in
four two days!
Like a pre-season tourney, only it opens the PAC-12 season...on a neutral court?!

Does anyone have a link to livestream of UNLV-Stanford game?

Good heavens. This year Eileen Roche will really be earning her salary. Rather than designing one schedule it seems like she has to redesign a schedule every day or so. If we get through this season she ought to get some sort of medal.
So is the plan to stay in Las Vegas and have our remaining December game--Davis--there? All our remaining games are away games until Jan 8.

I don’t believe Davis can return if traveling out of state

If they remain in Vegas, maybe they can make up the game against Pacific and also add Wyoming and LMU - they’re UNLV’s upcoming opponents.

Or watch on Stadium on Sling (Blue or Orange).
Stadium is also on other things (like Samsung TV+, Roku, ...)

I just signed up for Sling and hope it’s easier that it seems.. gosh I’m so tech challenged and learn when walked through the process.. hopefully I can figure it out and watch today’s game as well as the PAC 12 games.. still hate that Directv doesn’t carry it..

Glad it's streaming, but I'm steamed that DirecTV no longer even carries the Mountain West Network. Feel free to call me an idiot if I'm still a DTV subscriber this time next year.

I was never happier than the day I was able to call Comcast and ask them to cancel. Initially I was just going to cancel internet (we got gigabit fiber), but their cable package was such a rip-off as to be insulting. I wound up getting YouTube TV, which has meant I've had to sacrifice the Pac-12 Network, and a bunch of other channels I never watch, but I don't regret it for a second.

It’s not that DirecTV isn’t carrying it.. Mountain West Network isn’t on tv anymore. I was like you and thought the same thing but found the following:
CBS Corporation, the network's primary owner, shut down all television production on May 31, 2012.

I love Comcast.

I'm confused by all the difficulty that people had getting the UNLV game. I went to Gostanford.com, clicked the link there, and it took me to the Mountain West broadcast with no problems at all. Did it make a difference that I'd gone online via Edge? Also, I could have gotten it streaming via Youtube -- but didn't need to go to that option.

Comcast continues to act as if it has a monopoly (ironically, after I left, I got a notice that they were increasing Cable prices). For me, the last straw was when they imposed a data cap in the midst of a pandemic when we have two adults working from home and three kids going to school at home. Gigabit internet through Sonic is costing me half what Comcast used to cost me. I'd have been happy to keep my cable only, except that their service bundling is designed to force you to use their sub-par other services, so cable alone would have cost a ridiculous amount. I wound up subscribing to YouTube TV, and it turns out that streaming is both cheaper and, once I got the hang of it, easier than using cable. I no longer have to use my TiVo to record shows; I just click "add to library" and YouTube TV adds the show for me.
The downside, of course, is that YouTube TV doesn't have Pac-12 nets. Sling wasn't work it just for Pac-12 nets.
Oh, and did I mention how much better the customer service is for a smaller provider than a ginormous corporation? I call an actual number in Santa Rosa and talk to a real human being without waiting.
