We lead 22-10 after the first quarter.
Offensively, we are on fire. Haley realizes that she will need to score if we are going to continue our run against tougher competition. She nails two 3-pointers and already has 8 points and 2 assists.
Brink also has 8 points as well and we are shooting 71% from the field. We are getting backdoor cuts too.
Defensively, we are containing the Terrapins so far. They are only shooting 19% from the field and we already have a couple blocks including one off of Belibi that almost led to another dunk.
One of their top players Miller already has two fouls.

Fouls are evening up. Jump looks a bit nervous. Brink is great...but maybe 2 fouls. Hulls trying too hard on offense.

Stanford held Maryland to 23 points in the first half. That's how you win championships.

We lead 39-25 at the half. Our shooting percentage cooled off and we are just above 50% for the game now. Brink also took a hard shot to the body and had to sit for the last five minutes of the quarter after draining a three the previous play. Despite that, she's still our leading scorer with 13, shooting 5/6. Jones has 10 points and is 4/9.
The Hull twins came alive offensively with Brink out including a Lacie three pointer. We do have 8 turnovers though, so we need to clean that up and Brink, Belibi and Lacie all have two fouls.
Maryland is struggling offensively and despite that, is only down 14, so we cannot let up in the second half. They are an explosive team who can come back in a hurry.
Though no one is in double figures yet for them and they have three players including two of their starters with two fouls, they must not be taken lightly. They haven't scored yet from long range (0/6) and their three point specialist Benzan hasn't even attempted a three pointer, so credit to our defense for denying them outside looks. But Maryland is too good to be held under 30% shooting for the whole game, so we need to continue to create separation between us.
We have to continue the defensive pressure, clean up our turnovers and continue to stay aggressive offensively. Hopefully Brink will come back in the second half as they had no answer to her in the first 20 minutes.

I wish Haley had slowed down Owusu in the backcourt with 6 seconds left, but if that's the worst she does, I'll be happy.
I feel Maryland has a run in them and will get close. The refs will continue trying to even the fouls and the game.
We want to keep fending them off.

Owusu's basket at the end of the half is taken away. She didn't get the shot off before time ran out.

We lead 59-36 after three quarters. Brink picked up an undeserved 3rd foul after nailing a beautiful midrange jumper and is still our leading scorer at 15 despite sitting for most of the third quarter.
Fortunately, she is still holding that distinction not because our offense has gone cold, but we continue to be varied in our offensive attack. Both Jones and Lexie have 14 points each now. We are shooting 52% from the field, though we did commit another 4 turnovers in the quarter. Iriafen is giving Tara so much depth and though she may not be putting up brobdingnagian numbers, she provides another post threat when Brink is in foul trouble and Belibi needs a rest.
We are still holding Maryland below 30% shooting and Miller has 4 fouls while Reese has three.

We've lost our edge. They need to tighten things up and put them away. Of course, the refs aren't helping matters.
