Brooke's got great shooting but Bosgana showing quickness too and better body control.

I think our second string could win the Pac-12 and go deep in the NCAA tourney.

Nivar is very athletic. Quick, strong and good body control to finish her layup after the steal.

If Nivar continues to show the offensive skill set she's shown so far, she will take minutes from Agnes. Nivar looks like our 2nd best perimeter defender after Agnes but with better overall offensive skills.

I was just thinking this. That Agnes' starting spot may be Indya's by the end of the year with this kind of offense (I also think Agnes plays D a little upright, however would agree she is our top defender on the permitter). I also could see Tara electing to put Lepolo at the 1 and move Haley back to the wing to get more offensive production out of her.
You can tell by Tara's body language that she wants the team to run the offense, seems a little frustrated that we keep jacking up quick 3's (even though quite a few are going in!)

We can shoot: 51.6 -- 36.7 -- 84.6
So much depth.
Lepolo with 11 assists and zero turnovers. We have a point guard not named Jones.
Kiki was 7 of 8 shooting and pulled down 6 rebounds in 14 minutes.
Brink with 6 blocks.
Nivar with 13 points in 13 minutes, included goining 3 of 5 from downtown.
Bosgana with 15 points in 15 miniutes, plus 6 rebounds.
As a team, we had 26 assists and 50 rebounds.

Man! LEPOLO's passing and overall playmaking is TOPNOTCH, that's for sure!
11 assists and no turnover in 21 minutes in her collegiate WCBB debut
for the #2 team in the nation!
Is that a WCBB record for a 1st career gameas a freshman?
Alas, Haley, we don't need you at PG sooner than later (especially because
you're struggling to get your own points at PG)

So much switching on screens, which seems to be a significant change in philosophy. Or, perhaps, this is a recognition that the team has many more agile defenders.
I nominate Bosgana’s grin after her buzzer beating three as the best moment of a great game.

Not sure about deep in the tournament, but Tara has recruited a damn good class!

After watching all of Bosgana's games this summer for the Greek U-23 team where she was the leader I was hoping her confidence and success from that tournament would continue back at Stanford and so far so good. I forgot she is only a sophomore so her development is definitely coming along nicely.

It's hard to tell a whole lot when SDSU was not really that good, and they were certainly undersized, but I was impressed with both Nivar and Lepolo. They both play with some toughness we haven't had at times in the past. I also agree Agnes was not too impressive tonight and that someone else could eventually be starting in her place. Harriel did not seem very aggressive at all and there was one maddening moment when a loose ball seemed to float around her feet for way too long.
Betts is a work in process. Very slow out there. Let's hope for the best but based on this limited view I don't think we should stop recruiting bigs next year.
Good for Bosgana. This game played to her strengths and she showed she can make threes.
Sure, we scored 80+ points. But 2Q was a real drought for a while and the offense does need some work. Lots of new faces, and maybe that's the price of giving everyone a long look.
I believe Fran is recovering from injury, but is Ashten in the doghouse, or is Tara just giving the other posts a long look at this point in the season?

i think it's good of tara to reward agnes as a junior by starting her; but, yes, talana, indya, and elena all add excellent offense to quite good defense and will likely be taking time from agnes before long.

Player Efficiency Leaders for Stanford Game #1:
BRINK = 27 (20 minutes)
IRIAFEN = 17 (14 minutes)
BOSGANA = 17 (15 minutes)
NIVAR = 15 (13 minutes)
LEPOLO = 13 (21 minutes)
DEMETRE = 10 (15 minutres)
BETTS = 9 (8 minutes)
JONES = 9 (23 minutes)
The combined Stanford sophomore and freshman classes
may prove to be truly outstanding as its own team:
F - DEMETRE 6'3
F - IRIAFEN 6'3
C - BETTS 6'7
G - BOSGANA 6'1
G - NIVAR 5'10
G - PAPADAKI 5'11
PG - LEPOLO 5'7
PG - HARRIEL 5'10
I would start:
F - DEMETRE
F - IRIAFEN
G - BOSGANA
G - NIVAR
G - LEPOLO
This line-up has a triple threat from beyond the arc
(DEMETRE, BOSGANA, NIVAR) and really quick
in transition including IRIAFEN
with LEPOLO running the point
Then:
- BETTS comes in for either DEMETRE or IRIAFEN
- HARRIEL comes in for either NIVAR or LEPOLO
- PAPADAKI comes in for either BOSGANA or NIVAR
