What happened to Brinks free throw shooting?  She's 1-4 tonight.  if we are going to advance deep into the dance, she will need to do better than that.

It has tailed off a lot since the first game she was back after being sick.

Well solid win, despite a weak first quarter.

 I am concerned about the bench though. Bad day for Demetre, but she has games where the match ups are a problem for her. This was one of those. She will have better days. I am less convinced about the rest of the bench.

The positive is Bosgana has stepped up several times late in the year. I thought she might get supplanted as a starter, but instead her minutes have deservedly gone up instead.

Lots to like about tonight’s game, after the sloppy start
Though of course every next tournament game gets tougher
My biggest concern for Iowa State?
Lepolo has to show she is worth guarding
She reverted back to early season poor shooting of 0-3 tonight
She needs be enough of scoring threat to keep other team from sagging off her and clogging the paint
Best thing for Iowa St game is for Lepolo hit one or two early shots, to keep their D honest the rest of game

If we let Crooks shoot 18-20, we will lose. I can’t imagine any universe where that happens though. But for me the key is how much trouble does her width cause Cam and Kiki? I hope/expect they can mostly neutralize her offense and rebounding. But Beers gives us fits so we will see.

The other thing I want to see is relentless running. Crooks struggles to get up and down the court. Cam and Kiki should be easily able to beat her down the floor every time.

IOW, Crooks is fat and really has no business being on a basketball court.
