22 yards after the TD drive.....

Gulbranson looks like the QB who was so rattled by the pass rush pressure earlier in the season that he forgot how to throw.

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - Gary86 - 10-25-2025

I know that Brown isn't great , but leaving Gulbranson in at this point is coaching malpractice.

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - PalmTree - 10-25-2025

We are just getting shredded on D

Hard to believe that we were leading after 1 quarter, tied at halftime.

Can they cover 30 points...?   Need 2 more TDs.

So I guess this means since we have alum Stanford Steve on the program, we will make Scott Van Pelt's Bad Beats this week?

Well, at least we finished the game by actually getting positive yardage on a first down play.....

I think Cristobal is border classless and hope someone puts a 50 burger on him.

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - cardcrimson - 10-25-2025

It wasn't hard after the first drive. They realized we couldn't throw, and stopped the run. . . Brown in his limited action, looked more mobile and aware than Ben. . . .

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - PVTree - 10-25-2025

The best news I heard from the broadcast is that the announcers said something like Andrew Luck has raised "hundreds" of millions for Stanford football, not only the 50 million donation that made the news.

Use some of the money to get the Bear back. I saw the BYU game, and he looked very good.

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - needle - 10-26-2025

This morning, I feel a little more encouraged than I did yesterday. The defense did NOT embarrass themselves. I think it was a classic case of a team just getting worn down physically. There's no point in belaboring the offensive woes except to say that surely this is a learning experienced for AL. You just have to spend the resources to get a top QB.

I don't know if Stanford could have matched BYU for Bear or Auburn for Daniels (I suspect Daniels' decision to leave was less about money, but surely money was a factor). That's the point. It must be known across CFB that Stanford will not cheap out on the QB position in 2026 and beyond.

RE: FB -- Miami Game Thread - BostonCard - 10-26-2025

Four of Miami’s touchdowns were on short fields.  Two big punt returns and two interceptions.  Miami had touchdown drives of 55, 45, 40, and 3 yards.  Hard to get too upset at the defense when three of the drives started on their own side of the field.  And that doesn’t even include a Miami drive that started on the Stanford 30 but yielded a turnover on downs.

Wow, hundreds of millions?  Doesn't that mean at least $200million or possibly $300million.  That seems like more than enough for a few years.

Whether Bear comes back or not probably depends on the new coach Stanford hires as well as the amount of OL talent upgrade/maturation that is projected to occur.

Luck needs to play moneyball with the NIL funds.  Football is a team sport, and we can't undervalue the linement on either side.

Did everybody see the sideline interview with AL? He absolutely gushed over Reich and the job he's done as HC. I now believe that Luck's Plan A is to keep Reich on as coach.

Does anyone else think that's a real possibility?

Yes agree that Lineman should be a priority.
To borrow from Field of Dreams:  If you build it (OLine), they (QB's) will come

Bear certainly isn't "coming back" during the next two or three years unless he loses the QB1 job at BYU. If he keeps that job his next stop will be the NFL. The only places he MIGHT possibly go would be places who can pay him much better than he currently is and are good prospects to win a National Championship. That is definitely not Stanford.

No.  Reich's family and extended family are still back east afaik, so it sounds like Reich is currently spending a season away from home.
