Was standing next to the OSU cheerleaders during the pregame, they were great. They all ran over to where they could see the band, and a couple of them looked at me and my stanford sweatshirt, and asked "Are they always like this?"
No, I said, they are rarely this organized.
Then the booing started, and they started looking really confused as the program went on.
I'm here in the airport now getting ready to head home. Have been talking to a few older OSU fans. They really were shocked by the whole thing, but as someone above said, it may just be that they were fresh meat.
My pretend empathy would have been much more fun if we had won.

Yes, it was in the pre-game. I couldn't quite make out what he was saying, but I did hear the words "Soviet Union" before the booing began.
