An alum from Slate weighs in, drawing from the Princeton Review's earlier article listing Stanford as students' top choice and parents' second choice. He also adds the admission rate and annual giving to the mix.

By the way, did anyone notice that Miles Untereinner, the guy who met with the Rhodes committee the same day as he finished his NCAA Championship cross country meet wrote the Daily article? I don't think Stanford's losing its excellence anytime soon.
