Re: Private board - shade - 12-12-2013

Re: Private board - cardFan - 12-12-2013

One more lurker coming out to play... Although I'm actually closer to 100 than I thought! More active here in my college days than I'd remembered ;)

Re: Private board - TriangleTree - 12-12-2013

After more than 10 years of faithful following (I stuck it through the 2 dark regimes), enough incentive to register and come out of the tree shade...

Still, I won't make it to 100 for a while (maybe in time for our next national championship?), so in an emotive plea for the many of us that make this a part of our daily rituals, please don't go all private on us!!

Cheers,

el arbol

EDIT:
Thanks CompSci, I won't be in a rush to earn my credentials.
Still, I've now taken the plunge so at the very least will be voting on the predicted scores. When does the Rose Bowl one go up? I'd be really tempted to call for a repeat of the Sun Bowl extravaganza in the 90s, but these Spartans look pretty good on video.

Re: Private board - CompSci87 - 12-12-2013

We can enable faithful Cardinal lurkers for the private board without messing with your post count now.  8)

Re: Private board - UmbralTree - 12-12-2013

If this part of a master plan to get all of us lurkers to come crawling out of the woodwork, it seems to be working.

I'm yet another longtime lurker. I became a fan at the very end of the dark days for football when I arrived on the Farm in 2006 and have been following ever since. Love the discussion (related and off-topic) on this board and don't want to miss any of the group's collective wit.

Who do I have to show my super-secret President Hennessy tattoo to prove my loyalty?  ;)

Re: Private board - larkinforever - 12-12-2013

I've mainly been a lurker, too, though I've faithfully visited this board many times (too many, probably) over the past two years. I especially enjoy the Class of 201X recruiting threads, as it allows my fandom to remain in full beast mode throughout the calendar year. At my rate, I estimate reaching 100 posts in about 2 more years.

Re: Private board - KartyFan - 12-12-2013

Might as well join the fray... I haven't posted much since some lively debate with Garvin over the team's state prior to the 2009 season. I was surprised to see I have 88 posts, but apparently I post 0.005 times per day since I joined in 1969.

Re: Private board - GaryT - 12-12-2013

At my current rate of 0.003 posts per day, you'll be able to find my key insights to the upcoming 162nd Big Game on the Private Board.

I'm sure that anyone with a name like Brannerite will make only positive contributions.

Dunno. Branner sucks.

This is one of the Messages of the Week???

Re: Private board - Extra Point - 12-12-2013

It is nice to know that all of the commotion I inadvertently initiated is bringing long time lurkers into the light. This is positive!

Re: Private board - ceece - 12-12-2013

does it help if I actually *was* an LSJUMB member back in the day?

I may not make it to 100 posts until the LSJUMB 100th reunion otherwise...

I wasn't a LSJUMB member, but I did live (perhaps not surprisingly) in Larkin!

Re: Private board - terry - 12-14-2013

I had no idea there were so many lurkers!

Re: Private board - Sea Loon - 12-14-2013

Yes, there are a lot of us, aren't there?

Have enjoyed this site for years, haven't gotten it together to officially register, but the recent incentive is a good carrot.

Re: Private board - Leftcoast - 12-14-2013

Private board or no private board, I hope we keep the conversations here.

One of the amazing and wonderful things about this place is that we've defied the tragedy of the web commons and kept conversations civil, informative and inciteful without making it a firewall protected club.  It is the one place that reminds me of the pre-WWW ARPAnet boards.  (Whew, did I just age myself!)

I hope we continue that tradition and mainly use the private board for tickets and similar topics.

Re: Private board - Extra Point - 12-14-2013

I have a question for the lurkers. Why not share your news, insights, and opinions? If you enjoy lurking here, then what you have to say can't be too far out of line with what you are read here. I would especially like to hear from those who have relatives and friends on the teams, as well as those who personally know recruits. Jump in. It doesn't hurt!

the top of board Members button accesses today's 689 handles in several modes, including by number of posts [nearly 200 post-less], or by registration date, etc:

predictably lottsa folks post just once, testing.

Re: Private board - stanfan95118 - 12-14-2013

Alright, count me in. Longtime "lurker," first time poster. Didn't attend the school; grew up as a fan in San Jose. Fondly remember watching Brevin Knight and Montgomery's teams...

Re: Private board - Kirk72 - 12-14-2013

Like Stanfan95118 I grew up in the South Bay - could be Stanfan95008 - didn't attend the school and became a Stanford fan because my aunt and uncle lived down the street from the stadium and used to take me to games when I was little during the John Paye-Jason Palumbis era. Love the intelligent and thoughtful posts by everyone here and I'll plan on jumping into the fray.

I thought we were trying to avoid that.
