I think the narrative here is important.  SC lost the game because they were unable to recover physically from their game against Stanford.  That observation came up time and time again during the game. 

If SC had lost to BC in October, that would be bad for Stanford and the Pac-12.  SC falling just 7 days later was a net good for Stanford.

All things considered, I'd have preferred U$C to have played BC and won last week, Stanford to have dominated Army last week, and Stanford to have been the one to expose U$C this week.

That said, Stanford still has all its goals still available, and maybe that U$C debacle will serve as motivation and inspiration to achieve them.
