Yes, Lombardi worked with the Packers' long-time equipment manager, Dad Braisher, to design the G logo.

So did the Georgia Dwags steal the "G" from the Packers or was it the other way around?
I channeled my inner Packer once and it cost me conjugal visitation for a month. My sister lived in Madison for something like 15 years and became a die hard Packer fan, to the point of serving a wheel of cheese with Brett Favre's face carved into it once. Mrs. Jacketrette is a die hard 49er fan. So the back and forth during those epic playoff games was....epic. My sister sent me a Packer Helmet Christmas ornament, which I hung immediately above my wife's Niner helmet one year. She figured it out pretty quickly and since she likes my sister
I felt the wrath and went, uh, without for quite a bit longer than usual. ("Oh yeah? Two can play this game! I once went 18
years without.*Â This is nothing!")Â So it is absolutely hilarious to watch her openly root for the Packers. Of course there is A-aron Rogers (she is a die harder
Cal fan), but she really hates Dallas and Seattle.
Personally I'd like to see the Colts beat the Packers in the Super Bowl.
*Well, the first 18 years, but who's counting?

The Packers' G logo was introduced in 1961, Lombardi's third season. The Packers won the NFL championship in 1961 and 1962, so the new logo had some immediate good mojo.
According to the Georgia athletics website, Georgia's G logo was introduced in 1964.
The timing strongly suggests that Georgia ripped off the Packers, don't you think?

Thanks Terry. Yes that suggests much about UGA; none of it good.

Living in the land of Pats, all I hear is extreme confidence in a Super Bowl trip. I was surprised to see how split the ESPN team reporters are on the outcome. 6 of 16 are predicting a Colts upset. Conversely, only 1 of 16 are predicting the Packers pull of the upset. I personally feel like the the Packers are more likely to upset than the Colts, due to their better overall team.

The last time I was this excited about an AFC championship game was the Freezer Bowl.

If Aaron Rodgers is no more mobile than he was against the Cowboys it will be a long day for the Packer offense
