Thanks Publius. I had no idea that a band called Tame Impala existed, let alone that they released a new album. Thank you for expanding my musical horizons.
And since we are talking about not well known bands from the Southern Hemisphere... I offer you Goldfish's brand new single. They qualify as my favorite South African band (and also the only South African band I know).

Another recent discovery, Titus Andronicus. I don't love them enough on their own merits to post except one of their previous punk rock concept albums (The Monitor) is about a subject near and dear to our founders' hearts: The Civil War.

For Jazz aficionados, the California Jazz Conservatory youth all-stars at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland this summer. My daughter is one of the trumpet players. Ridiculous trombone improv beginning at 5 minutes by a 16 yo. If you listen carefully, you will notice that it is his version of happy birthday - it was my daughter's 19th that day.
