If I remember correctly, we ended up following this formula: [Stanford predicted score - Stanford actual score] + [Opponent predicted score - Opponent actual score] = margin of error. The total number of points awarded is based on the number of players entering in a prediction for that week...i.e. 20 predictions, the person with the smallest margin of error gets 20 points, 2nd place gets 19 points, etc. There was a 10(?) point bonus if your score prediction was perfect and a 5(?) point penalty for picking against Stanford with the result being a Stanford win. Your weekly score would be added to the season-to-date totals.
Shall this be the formula for this season?
Is Guass running this contest again? Publius?

I'm in. I wasn't around last season so I'll defer to you vets.
I can be a bit slow at times, so let's do an example. If I predict the final score to be 34-20 in favor of Stanford, and the true final score is 24-17 Stanford...my margin of error for the week is 13. And say there are 20 people in the contest that week and my 13 is the 4th lowest that week, I would be awarded 17 points on my season total. Am I following?

I remember watching that game and being very unimpressed with Dickerson. Just no motor or tenacity. Terrence's INTs were great!

Seems a lot of us don't believe the offensive troubles are past and don't have faith in the D. We will know very soon. Can't sleep!

Shouldn't these score predictions utilize nomenclature that demeans our opponent? Or ridicules them? I get the geographic relevance, but for me, personally, the Chop House is preferable.
Just sayin'.  :D
