A more seasoned KJ is going to be a really really good QB. He has the tools. Even that play where he missed the wide open Parkinson, he still made a pretty good throw there.
Way more worried about our defense next year.

With such great field position all night, its not like the offense covered itself in glory. And when one medium length drive could win it, they went quietly into the good night.
Costello got beat up pretty good even without a lot of sacks and I think he may have hurt his throwing hand. He did seem a little rattled. Ended the way Hill started with brain fart plays.

I hope he runs more. He's an athlete.

Of the 5 games we lost this year, 4 were by 3 points or less.
Of course we won some close ones also, but the end of the game wasnt our strong suit this year. Coaching? Conditioning? Depth? The fortunes of war?

For the long term, I'm a bit heartened by the depth of the 2018 DL recruiting 2018 class, though next year, we definitely need of Johnson, William &/or Wade-Perry to really it step up. Williams got more playing tonight, but I'm not sure how effective he was - I'll have to check the stats and replay
ILB is a brobdingnagian concern depth-wise, really hoping Barton (Alfieri?..anyone, anyone... help me here) can come up/back strong next year.
It was just painful to watch our DB depth decimated over the course of the season.
What was really bad though, was the touchdown return on the punt return...speed really does kill
Speaking of which, <all> I ask is for Love to return and for AS-B to embrace the opportunity to play on the same team as his brother.

The DOGs and false starts on the last drive were caused by the fan noise. It was much louder than it had been all game, as one might expect. The bad thing is that we were not prepared for it. Twice KJ got the snap when he hadn't expected it. Shaw should have burned a TO before the first DOG. You need all your TOs at that point yes, but you need to keep the ball even more. We had plenty of time. We needed to quickly talk over our silent count, or whatever we have for that situation. It is also hard to select the 1 of 3 plays if you can't be heard, so that needs to be addressed in the same TO. We didn't get this sorted out, and it killed us. The D was injured, gassed, and limited, but they did what they had to do. The offense on the last drive didn't. Stuff happens.

I think ASB goes to Stanford or SC, but, unfortunately, I think he's staying in SoCal.

I'm not sure exactly what this is supposed to mean, but it's worth noting that TCU is the second-best defense we played this year, only worse than Washington (at least by S&P+, FEI has them behind WSU as well). And as I noted previously we put up more points against them than anyone besides the #1 offense in the country. We actually did pretty well on offense, all things considered. Of course we know that we left at least a TD on the field, and that final drive was beyond frustrating, but 37 points against TCU should be enough to win.
