That means that Kim would have to perform a miraculous comeback, coming from 2 down with 2 left (actually, three down with three left, though her birdie left her alive).

Kim makes birdie on 17 while Alvarez does not. 1 down with one to play.
Stackhouse makes a clutch 6 footer for par on 18. And Rhee does the same from almost the same distance. They go to extra holes. Stanford is down 2-1 and has to win both matches to win the NC.

Kim and Rhee each had back-to-back-to-back birdies on 15-16-17. Kim needs another on 18. It's a tall order.

Washington's Alvarez had a short putt (maybe 4 feet) for par and the national championship. She lipped it out. On we go to extra holes.

Obviously, Stanford is in the worse position because it needs to take both matches, but it is nice to have the top 2 golfers still out there in sudden death against UW's #3 and #5 golfers.
