Rex Ryan took Jim Schwartz's top defense and ruined it. His brother Rob doesn't know how to make a 3rd down call -- seriously. There are rumors of players not trying, players with talent. Marcel Dareus has been a big fat zero. Kevin Williams is unbelievable but now injured (again).
McCoy is lucky he isn't in prison. he's also very injury prone. I like Mike Gilislee at RB. Carlos Rogers was a beast but ate himself out of football (plus the arrest issues).
THis is a grease fire, I'm sorry to say.

Boycott over, Minnesota will play. No word on any concessions.
The ten suspended players will receive "a fair hearing" in front of a "diverse review panel", although that is based on the team's statement.

Perhaps, but the courageous still need to choose their battles. This was a no win suicide mission. It seems that there is strong indications that this was a gang rape. Those who were either directly or indirectly involved needed to be punished.
The players' withdrawl of the boycott seems to be the best resolution possible for all involved. I'm glad for this outcome. If the administration follows through with their promise to give the players fair hearings, all the better.

It's possible that they didn't know the rationale and were protesting that, and when they found out the evidence they changed their minds. It's really hard to know what's going on in these situations, but based on what I saw when the protest was initially reported it wasn't unreasonable for the players to think that at least some of the suspended players were being punished unfairly (ie "They were just in the same building"). The subsequent evidence released made that seem a lot less likely.

It's a good thing for Minnesota that they're not playing Stanford in the Holiday Bowl -- the Band would have creamed them at halftime. Oh, wait . . . never mind.

Sure, the Band is prevented from playing at
Stanford games, but why not the Holiday Bowl? Fun in the sun in San Diego, and the black pants/red jackets motif work (kinda) with the WSU colors. I would loooove to see what the Band would do with the UM program...

Just a friendly reminder (because the University conveniently forgets to mention it every time a show gets the band in trouble):
Every show the band puts on has to be approved by a committee of university administrators several weeks before the game. And has been for 20 years. Which is one reason why the satire has become less biting. Because committees are always willing to take risks to be funny. </sarcasm>
For example, one dictum is that the band can't make fun of C.al at Big Game. This of course, led to the show "Cowell Sucks," which was completely about the student health center at Stanford and in no way relied on Cowell being a homophone for something else.
And yes, I would've loved to see a relatively uncensored show about the Minnesota situation.
I do hope that sometime this fact penetrates the general consciousness.

Other than the sore loser Iowa fans complaining about the online dating show, have there been widespread complaints about a show since the Norte Dame show in '97?

To be fair, a lot of the Iowa fans complaining about the Band's show probably had to do with McCaffrey's first half.
I kind of feel like the band is more acceptable to opposing fans when our team is getting crushed. When we have repeatedly stomped someone into the grass for 30 minutes, kind of hard to smile at the zany nerds making fun of you.

Oh my yes. 2007 at Oregon managed to get the Oregon Governor involved when they chainsawed a spotted owl.

Especially 2004, when BYU played at Stanford Stadium, and the Band declared that marriage is between a man and a woman, and a woman, and a woman, and a women, with the dollies prancing about in wedding veils and marrying the band manager in a send up of polygamy.
Hard to believe that "cow tipping" was considered controversial if you compare that to playing "She's not there" at OJ's trial.
