2012 and 2013. The latter was even more impressive. Of course in those games the offense controlled the ball for 38 and 42 minutes. THAT is the best way to defend an explosive offense. Keep them off the field. I do not think this Stanford team can do that.

I envisioned this season as an extended training camp for our NC run in the 2018 season somewhere in the 9-3 range :) I think we will still get there. Its important for us to lose a few games so we can get the chip back on our collective shoulders and be the underdog world beaters! 8)
I am extremely gloomy now but no matter how bad it gets ... my heart will never let me pick against our beloved Cardinal. Genuinely afraid for the safety of our players - the more we beat down on the nasty Bruins the dirtier they play.

Bruins 13
D wins us the game with a pick 6
Do you know something we don't? Like maybe Josh Rosen has decided to sit this one out in protest over NCAA policies, or perhaps because he thinks it would be more fun to spend the weekend in the hot tub with one of his many coed admirers?
Anyway if we hold UCLA to 13 points I will be extremely (pleasantly of course) surprised. Of course, I would have said the same thing about the Ducks and Marcus Mariota in 2012.

Have we seen the prediction game scoreboard since the lamentable SDS game? Perhaps I missed it?
Speaking of THAT game, I'm hoping to bleach the #%*! thing from my memory and go back to a time when SDS meant Hayden, Rudd and Dohrn rather than Penny and Long.Â

Well, I would have been top of the table if they didn't play the second half :) :)
Shaw has broken his longest losing streak.
He has a new RS Frosh QB to cure all our offensive woes.
Mora and Rosen still have not beaten Stanford!

Nicely done.

LOL, thanks Boston Card. I wish I could take credit, but the more detailed post will reveal that, after being so off the first 3 games, I switched to using the George Costanza Method. If my every instinct was wrong, then the opposite, would have to be right. Which is how I predicted 54 points.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKUvKE3bQlY
I will say I think it's been difficult this season because it's been so hard to peg things down. Are we good on defense or not? Do we have a prolific offense or not?
Who could've predicted Stanford's offense would be sparked by Costello getting in?
Only George Costanza.

Lol, your 55-34 prediction is looking really good. Google forms has a histogram function and showed a score in the mid-fifties, so I went through them manually and saw snorlax at 54 and thought, there couldnt have been more than one wild eyed optimists in this bunch. Well picked, sir.

A) Congratulations to cornfed, for not just keeping the faith, but for having an uncannily accurate prediction in a game where Stanford's offense beat the most optimistic projections.
B) Shame upon winflop, qwerty (twice!), myself, TC (AKA Phogge), CTCard, bbm233, trevmiesterj who picked Stanford to lose and were wrong. Kudos to Mick, who picked Stanford to lose (correctly as it happened) last time, and then to win (again, correctly) this time. From now on, he is only allowed to pick wins.
C) Of special note, Phogge got the score almost perfectly right... just got the teams bass-ackwards. 31-55 instead of 58-34.
Thanks everyone for participating. I will work with BigEasyCard to get the cumulative rankings out later this week.
BC
P.S. A couple people entered twice. That's not a problem if the same score was already entered, but a potential problem if two
different scores were selected. Although I am sure these were inadvertent, to prevent attempts at manipulating the system, I suggest we take the less accurate one.
Re: UCLA predictions -

Cornfed clearly has a time machine or is performing some other form of wizardry. He intentionally "missed" the Stanford score by 3 to keep us from surrounding his house with pitchforks, roping him up like a calf, and tossing him into the cow pond to see if he really is a warlock.Â
Congrats Cornfed! Keep up the enchanted enthusiasm.Â
Cheers,

I don't play this game so I don't have any stake in it, but I'd say to pick either the first or the last. Maybe just a flip a coin to decide now and then roll with it. I can see justifications for either, and I can also see people forgetting if they entered and doing it again just in case, or wanting to update their thinking based on some news, etc. I dunno, going with the worst one seems unnecessarily harsh to me.

I need to be parsimonious in the use of spells and incantations in order to avoid The Foster's Effect.Â
The Foster's Effect
The The Foster's Effect can happen when casting too many spells. With all that energy flying around at the same time, magical paths cross over and cause something known the The Foster's Effect. This reaction causes spells to multiply out of control, and has created all sorts of natural disasters. Using magic for selfish and trivial ends can also cause the The Foster's Effect. The Foster's Effect was discovered by Dr. Foster.
I know it's a little technical for you laypeople, but trust me spell casting can only be used by trained professionals like myself.
Now excuse me. My newt is calling.
