He needs to knock that stuff off if he'd like to have a long career. It looks awesome and probably got him on SportsCenter's Top 10, but when he landed on that Cougar, he was lucky he didn't roll his ankle. Better to do that stuff when he's running into an empty end zone.

Mom probably called up and gave him hell for that.

She probably didnt train him well. Not enough practice doing his routines while 11 other guys are trying to interfere.

We had dinner gathering last night comprised of Stanford, SC, and UCLA grads (mostly). All of us were rooting for Cal even though it was against interest to do so.
WSU looked as if they prepped thinking an easy W was in order.
But the C.al staff had the team ready to play. All credit to DaBares. And really, it took watching about 1/2 of 1 game to realize that Cal had made a good hire. The same realization kicked in in Game 1 of Harbaugh regime (a loss to UCLA, IIRC). You could just tell that the players were well prepped, even if they were outgunned talent-wise.
Cal is going to be a problem, starting this year. I just hope that when they do win a Big Game (and it will happen sooner rather than later), that they do not go on one of those 7 years swings we've seen of late in the series. Those kinds of dominance are bad for rivalries, imho.

Well, I share that hope too as far as C.al is concerned. But I would not at all mind Stanford going on a few more 7 year winning streaks! I'm not willing to lose to keep the rivalry keen!
But yes, the Pac 12 North seems to be that much tougher. All we need is for Oregon State to get its act together and we will have 6/6 formidable teams. I'm not sure if I like that idea given the ignorance of the rest of the country about the quality of Pac 12 play.

Gonna be restrained in interpreting the meaning of any game where the winner benefits from 7 turnovers + a one-yard punt, though ymmv.

Indiana kicks a last second fg to sent it into OT.
Jimmy H pulls it out. Probably been a few rumblings if he hadn't.

I agree with this but I saw the same thing Outsider did. Cal's zone was confounding Falk and he was tentative before making his decision to throw. Once he had a few picked off he became more tentative. Many of Cal's nine sacks were coverage sacks because Falk didn't know where to throw or was afraid to throw. Falk had some sort of injury to his non-throwing hand because he came out with a glove on that hand late in the game. I think that contributed to his fumbles. Also, several (seemed like 4 or 5) of the interceptions were of the tipped pinball type where a Cal defender was able to grab it just before it hit the ground. The defense gets credit for causing this of course, but there is an element of luck involved. As for the Cal team's attitude, I don't think it is that different. I was actually always impressed with the effort shown by Cal through the entire game under Dykes even when we were beating them handily. The biggest difference now is that they do have better coaching and a scheme that is giving them some success on both sides of the ball. Big Game is definitely back in play but I'm not ready to coronate Wilcox and his staff as one of the top coaching staffs yet. They are really good and may get there, but I don't have that rooting interest level of hopeful enthusiasm or fear-filled dread that some others do.
Cheers,
Pete F.

Darnold with two turnovers already. The second one results in a scoop and score off of a fumble for the Utes.

Many turnovers between USC and Utah. Utah just scored off one up 7-0

Utah 14; usc 7...
Our win against the Utes is looking better; our loss against USC looking worse.

Troy Williams drops a beautiful pass right down the chimney for a TD. Utes up 14 now. Given they missed a chippie FG too, the scoreboard really could be quite favorable for Utah.

Not sure who we should be rooting for. Whats better, for our win to look better and loss worse or vice versa? I know who I am rooting for though, go Utes!
At this point though, were out of the playoff so we either win the PAC or we dont. We still control our destiny on that front so thats the goal Im hoping for.

Totally missed this story earlier in the week, but apparently Darnold implied the playcalling was too predictable in the lead up to the game:
