RE: OSU Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 11-10-2018

Helluva ball fake by KJ.
Costello now averaging 45 yards a carry!

I mean, it would be surprising if he came back, but IIRC other players have walked twice. Shaw always tells the RS Juniors that if they're not sure to just walk.

It would be very surprising if JJ-Arcega Whiteside came back.  He's a first round draft pick and will have graduated.

Did Irwin walk?  Does he have another year of eligibility?

I think this gives credence to the idea that early in the year Costello was too injured to keep it on the read option, or was under orders not to run.  Probably not fully recovered from his injury.

He's a first-round pick if he can run a <4.5. I guess if he was only questionable for this week then he'll probably be able to train, but with his injury I don't think it's out of the question that he won't be full-go for the combine. If that's the case, he's likely a day-3 pick.

No, he's all done.  We will be without Irwin and JJ-AW next year. And Smith.

But Parkinson.

BC

3/4 of the distance to the goal.  LOL.

And we give it right back with an AT Hall hold.  ?

BC

That's Parkinson's fourth touchdown catch of the game.  Actually, the fourth TD catch of the half.

It's Colby's world and I'm just happy to live in it!

Actually, the first 3/8 of the game. On pace for ~11 TDs!

RE: OSU Game Thread - martyup - 11-10-2018

He was being interfered with while he caught it too.  What a night for Colby.

JJ was holding him back!

RE: OSU Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-10-2018

Robinson injured on that play.  Poor guy can't catch a break.

RE: OSU Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-10-2018

Nice play by Okereke.  Basically this is why getting too cute on playcalling doesn't tend to work when the defense is not on its heels.

BC

DWP with another nice TFL.  I mean, it's OSU, so hard to gauge, but still, nice to see.

But we still can't stop OSU from scoring.

RE: OSU Game Thread - thunder_chik - 11-10-2018

Little did I know my score prediction would be for the first half.....oops.

RE: OSU Game Thread - martyup - 11-10-2018

Wasted 10 seconds after that last catch.

RE: OSU Game Thread - FarmBoy - 11-10-2018

In case people are keeping score, I'm watching this game. A lot more positive feelings this week than last. It's fun to watch video game football every now and then.

Probably a good thing given that a couple plays later OSU intercepted Costello.  Now they have the ball at midfield with 20 seconds left.

BC

Well, that's a sour way to end the first half.

BC

Today in surprising (and somewhat silly stats)...

Camerons Scarlett has more kick-off return yards than Christian McCaffrey.  He's moved up to fifth on the Stanford all-time list.

RE: OSU Game Thread - JJJ - 11-10-2018

Today is the first day I'm noticing the pronunciation as "Arthega-Whiteside"... for those who know, is that the correct version or a lisp? Is that kind of like Olazabal? Sincerely curious.

In Spain, the soft 'c' and the 'z' are pronounced as a 'th'.  But that is a Spain thing.

BC

Another bit of trivia...

Colby Parkinson has four receiving touchdowns in the half.  The last player to have four receiving touchdowns in a half was... Ty Montgomery.

I'll add one other trivial note. Kenny Margerum had 4 TDs in a single quarter vs. Oregon State in 1980. The final was 63-7.

RE: OSU Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-10-2018

Also Parkinson is the first tight end this century with four touchdowns and 140+ yards in a game.  And he did it in a half.
