Not quite sure how to interpret this, but the Pac-12 announcement of the league schedule says "specific dates and time for each game within a week will be announced after selections by the league's television partners are finalized."

ESPN and whoever else is carrying games get to pick which ones they want, within some limits. Then the rest go to Pac-12 Networks. The game time and even date may be set to fit into the broadcasting network's schedule.

so this is good news to me because it means they're trying to maximize TV coverage in a year when we can't see games in person.

I asked a knowledgeable party at the Stanford Athletic Department whether the pre-season games would be televised by the PAC-12 Network and I was told: "
The first pre-season games will not be on PAC-12 NETWORKS. They will be lived streamed though."
The Fast Break Club used to have links to all viewing data including "lived streamed" sources listed with the season schedule. That data is not currently listed on the FBC site. Does anyone have a suggestion where to find the live stream link to the Cal Poly game next Wednesday? If so, please share.

I second that request for the opener. Really looking forward to watching this team, this year (even if I wish one player had stayed Cardinal).

Typically if you go to the schedule on Gostanford.com there is a link next to every game available. There are no links there now but I assume they will be added when the live streaming schedule is finalized.

I saw that but hopefully that last second buzzer beater is fresh on their mind and that they can play much better to come away with a win.

in the past, our 2 pre-season games (those that do not count for the season win/loss total) have not been televised, and our non-conference games have sometimes been televised (eg tennessee) and sometimes not (invitational tournaments). do we even have pre-season games this year, or are we starting right off with our non-conference games? is cal poly an exhibition game or a non-conference, for-the-record game?

Cal Poly is a D1 team and nothing says exhibition on the schedule. So it's a real game.

so, since we don't have pre-season games, the pre-season games definitely won't be televised. ; ^ )

The first game is only a few days away! Hope everyone on team stays safe and healthy. What are everyone's predictions on a starting lineup? Here's my guess:
PG - Williams
SG - Lexie
SF - Jones
PF - Belibi
C - Prechtel
I think the first three are givens since they were consistent starters last year. I do hope that Belibi is given the chance to start and have significant playing time on the court. She only played 13.9 minutes per game last year. And she really needs time on the court to show what she can do. Belibi isn't going to be the focal point of the offense so she needs court time to contribute in other ways like with steals, running the floor in transition and with offensive rebounds. I also like this lineup because it's probably our best scoring lineup and our problem the last couple of years has been generating offense. I hope the coaches move in this lineup direction vs letting the seniors start as we have historically had a problem where we start the game slowly and spot the other team a 10-12 point lead because we have a senior-led defensive team on the floor and Williams/Lexie have to attempt a lot of difficult late shot clock shots.

I’m almost curious if we’ll do a starting lineup that lets Kiana play off the ball.
Wilson
Williams
Hull
Jones
Prechtel
I think there’s plenty of combos out there, and it’s going to be interesting to see which one works. Let’s not forget that Jerome started for a portion of last year either.

My challenge with your proposed lineup is rebounding. Lexie and Prechtel are the only good rebounders for their position in that group. I think Jones is a good rebounder from the wing but less so when she has to battle strong power forwards. Plus I think Williams can play off ball in my proposed lineup because Jones will be initiating a lot of the offense either from the high post or driving from the wing.
