RE: NBA Playoffs - French Rage - 05-14-2022

Would it be wrong to say that Phoenix and Miami are more well-rounded teams, so I would want to play them less in the coming rounds?  Not that Dallas or Milwaukee are pushovers by any means of course.

Once again guys why the f### do you have to reply with the previous posts in your post? We can read and we know where you’re coming from.

It’s like some folks on our hill’s association that have to reply all ALL THE TIME. Drives me nuts.

Just hit the simple “reply” button. F### clutter!

Easy there, big fella. Threads like this tend to generate multiple tangents.  And not everybody reads every post. Hence the quote button is a tool to focus one's point.  And no, I wouldn't use it just to piss you off.  Well....maybe not!

I do just hit reply.  I have no need to have the whole thread. Not sure why they all pop up.

RE: NBA Playoffs - Phogge - 05-14-2022

Try hitting "New Reply" Lex not reply in quotes.

So Q, you are one of those reply all guys just like the nutty lady with the goats in West Marin?

RE: NBA Playoffs - CompSci87 - 05-14-2022

If you hit the big New Reply button way at the bottom, it makes a new reply to the thread without quoting anything.

If you hit the small reply button under an individual post, the button that has a quotation mark in it, it quotes the post. You can still delete whatever of the quote you don't need in your post.

RE: NBA Playoffs - DC 86 - 05-14-2022

Luka Doncic has averaged 32.5/9.3/8.5 in playoff games in his nascent NBA career. Nobody has ever averaged over 30.0/6.0/6.0 in playoffs in their career.

If you haven't found it already, check out the Dub Nation HQ YouTube channel. https://youtube.com/c/DubNationHQ

The channel has a great "explain" series by Eric Apricot that breaks down Warriors plays and actions in slow motion, both offense and defense. Apricot's explanations are fantastic for a fan who wants to understand what's going on a level deeper.  He has a fun dry sense of humor that makes it even more enjoyable to watch.

The series started out as "Explain One Play," each one explaining the way a specific play works with multiple examples. Now each video typically goes through several key plays in the latest game.

I may be mistaken, but I thought you picked the Grizzlies to win the series. . . .

I did. What's your point?  Because my pick was wrong, I can't point out the accomplishments of that team I didn't pick to win and point out an under the radar reason they in fact won?

Golden State Warriors -- "We were historically JV in Game 5 of this year's Western Conference semifinals..."

Phoenix Suns -- "Hold my beer!"

Good thing it’s a meaningless game, no?  And at home no less.

Looks like Chris Paul was tres important re Suns success. Dubs have home court vs Dallas.

RE: NBA Playoffs - cardcrimson - 05-15-2022

A 33 point beat down on the Suns court.

Cuban has clearly built a tremendous organization and culture. . . .

I’m sure I’ll feel really dumb in a moment but I can’t find a “ New Reply” button. Only option I see is the “reply” buttton the bottom of the post.  Is it possible that my IPAD doesn’t display other options?

Ok, like I said, I feel really stupid.  Found the button

So who heaps praise on me for picking 3/4 of the conference semi-final winners correctly, including Mavs over Suns? Seriously, why is it that people go out of their way to trash someone when they get something wrong, but NEVER give credit when they get things right?

I'm not interested in praise or condemnation, it's just people throwing ideas out and having fun. But if you are going to impugn someone for getting something wrong, man up and show respect when they get something right.

Anyway, did anyone else see the video of Jason Kidd mic'd up on that Game 7? Has anyone ever seen a Head Coach more actively involved in the playing of a game? Usually the coaches mostly observe, but Kidd was almost acting like he was playing the damn game with his callouts on defense. Makes me wonder if this is might be a little overzealous and not exactly proper.

Overzealous?  Look at the results.

Anyway, as a Mavs fan, I was not thrilled with the Kidd hire.  Checkered past, mediocre coaching record, and, worst of all, he went to Cal.  But Kidd has done a fantastic job.  He took the Mavs defense from one of the worst in the league to well above average with little change in the roster.  He made incredible adjustments in the Suns series after the Mavs looked listless on defense in games 1 and 2.  I doubt any coach could have done much better with this Mavs team.

No idea what happens in the conference finals, but I hope the Warriors are looking past the Mavs the way the Suns did...
