I think if both teams play their best it will be a close (and high scoring) game.
Homers from both sides who claim their team will crush the other are kidding themselves.

Who is the only team Stanford has lost to in its last 25 games? Oregon.
What does Oregon have that other teams haven't?Â
1. A spread offense that emphasizes the run
2. A QB that is a running threat
3. An offensive line that holds with impunity and is hardly ever called for it
4. A coach that will take risks at any point in the game, anywhere on the field
5. Ability to make Andrew Luck throw interceptions
OSU probably has a bit of #5 and #4, but I don't see them having 1-3. If Weeden runs the zone read, Stanford is toast. :P

Gundy is not the type that takes risks often, but OSU does lead the nation in interceptions so I think we are better at forcing picks that UO.Â
I think you'll be surprised at our offensive line. It is a strength of our team year in and year out, and this years line is senior laden.Â

GCP, go back and read his No. 3. He's not talking about the
quality of UO's line.

I think GCP's point may be that the OL doesn't
have to hold.

You know, it's too bad, but I think we were heading for our very best ever the UW annihilation. 66-21, with 7 Husky points being garbage time ones? That was epic. Then the injuries started. While everyone focuses on the players who were missing, I think Martin and Fleming were a bit slowed even in the games they did play (what they did to Notre Dame's very good defensive line is a bit of evidence in that theory's favor). Maybe it wouldn't've made a difference, but I'll always wonder.

5. Ability to make Andrew Luck throw interceptions
Luck threw 2 interceptions against Oregon. One was a play where an Oregon player was knocked to the ground, but just as Luck threw the ball, the Oregon player got up and was able to step in front of the receiver. That's on Luck. It's not a great defensive strategy, unless Oregon has a strategy of falling down and then waiting to hop up and intercept the ball. Luck's other interception was a perfect pass that squarely hit his receiver, but the ball bounced off the receiver and was caught by a surprised defender. That's not a great defensive strategy either, unless Oregon's strategy is to let opposing receivers get open and hope they deflect perfect passes to the defenders.
Oklahoma State is welcome to try either of those strategies. I hope they do.
At least 4 of Luck's 9 interceptions came when a Stanford receiver deflected a pass that hit him squarely in the hands, or fell down as the ball was on its way.

You can count on us disrupting catches and playing tip drill on national TV...been doing it all year...at that point it doesn not matter who your QB is.

GulfCoastPoke may turn out to be prescient...,
but he [or she] may also simply be channeling his/her inner, pre-Bowl Rex Kern, John Brockington, Jack Tatum and those other OSU fans from some 41 years ago.Â
That one worked out okay for us.

They didn't get to be one of the top teams in the nation in turnover ratio for nothing. There's some bluster in the OSU fans' comments, but it's not all unfounded.
